The Bucs D almost let the Panthers back in before the half. Gave up a quikc, super soft TD and then LUCKILY held them to a missed FG. The Panthers were getting the ball back after the half so that could've been three unanswered scores
It was ONLY one play and his only sack of the season, I think ,but if you watch the Braswell sack its a very traditional speed and bending around the tackle rush.
So, he does have some speed.
I agree it would be tough, politically charged and rare.I'm not a big Bowles fan. Just stating the obvious. In NFL history there have been a few 10 win coaches who have been fired. Buddy Ryan, Bum Phillips, Bryan Flores. It can happen, but it's rare. I don't think Bowles will be joining that crowd, not with all the injuries they've had.So Bowles is a lock to be the HC in 2025.
Hearing this from you makes me feel WAY BETTER about Bowles being gone next year.
More likely he gets promoted to an advisory role. Sounds like he’d be good with it, escapes with some dignity (especially if he wins out, 10 wins, and winning the division).
The reality is, Coen saved his season and was the biggest contributor for allowing the defense to play to a remaining strength limiting/stopping the run… but really just those long drives that kept them off the field.
I do think Coen will be HC next season - to me it’s just how it happens as the only question.
You're saying it would be politically charged because he's black? If so, strongly disagree.
It would be a surprise if it wasn’t. It’s a media talking point just about every offseason. There are those that still believe Flores was fired in Miami because of his skin color, despite the black GM that fired him and countless other minority players that spoke out against him.
I really hope you’re correct.
Bingo!
Alright, since we'll all be watching it:
- Redskins (-3.5)
- O/V (46)
- Falcons (+150) Redskins (-180)
Hey Trask got in!!!
This is probably the best analysis you’ve ever given. Nice work, slugger.
More along the lines of dealing with the legacy & culture he’s helped build & solidify - while BA is still in an advisory role.I agree it would be tough, politically charged and rare.I'm not a big Bowles fan. Then there is the aspect of treating this head coach with the respect he’s earned for what he achieved as a DC and HC: winning a Super Bowl, potentially winning multiple division titles, (with and without Brady), and a defense that until this season was second only to Dungy in prowess.
Todd Bowles has been a good coach, maybe not great, but one of the better head coaches in franchise history.
well said
earlier this season I posted that it’s odd to see someone like Bowles have such hard core detractors I can guarantee the owners and FO do NOT see him as some “incompetent” coach He may not go much further but his journey with the team has been one of winning and class and he’s been a huge team player stepping in for Arisns and running a team obviously constrained by $ issues

Flores firing was pretty weird tho AND he's been pretty damn good in Minnesota. In the end, the media did force the race angle a little but again it was handled poorly.
Bowles has been with Tampa for a long time so I don't think it'll carry any of that especially if they let him go well or even promote him to front office.

Biggs, you wanted to bench Mayfield for Trask lmao
Today Trask just handed the ball off. Mayfield threw 5 TDs on his way to a record breaking season
youre a troll because it’s your only option

Totally agree
Flores firing was pretty weird tho AND he's been pretty damn good in Minnesota.
And, like many have said, some guys are simply better as coordinators than they are HC's.
That's my thought with Bowles.
Without Coen, this is a 4-5 win team this year.
Mild mannered Bowles telling the Bucs DBs to get their heads out of their asses was a funny halftime highlight
Flores firing was pretty weird tho
Basically proven by the NFL investigation.
and one claim made by Flores - that the Rooney Rule process is a sham - is not only proven true by the Bellicheck text but it’s true just by basic common sense and understanding how hiring works.
I don’t know that the flawed Rooney process equals racial discrimination though
Biggs, you wanted to bench Mayfield for Trask lmao
As did you.
Double-talk away, you enormous sack of shit.

come on man.
You cant be a troll and a coward. You’re supposed to own your own shit , like you owned up to that 13 week troll about RBs in street clothes.
oh
wait

Yeah agreed but I'm not even sure Bowles is DC material anymore. Put him in the front office and call it a day.
