Let's just be real... Russell Wilson, Colin Kap, Cam Newton, even Rivers is pretty mobile. All these guys are still playing football in January.Let's talk about the rest of the elite guys in the league.BradyManningRodgersBreesFolesFlacco RyanLuckI think that about lists all the guys you could make arguments for as being "upper echilon" in the league.Of those, only 2 are still playing football, and that's cause they're Manning and Brady. Rodgers is mobile but who was his team beaten by? A mobile QB led team in SF. Luck is a mobile guy and he was playing yesterday (in January) The rest of those guys are statues (Foles can move a bit, but is no burner) and they are done for the season. So what's the conclusion? In this day of the NFL, the mobile QB's are the ones competing deep into January, and the statues are at home watching... unless their names are Manning or Brady. Do we have a Manning or Brady in Glennon? Really don't think so. If you want to be a serious competitor in this league, I think you have no choice but to grab a guy that can move.Draft Manziel at all costs.
You really aren't familiar with the concept of statistics, are you?

Luck is pretty mobile, actually.
3 of the 4 mobile QB's that you are referring to, also have the best defenses in the league as well.

Brees, Rodgers, Luck are all mobile. I agree with what I think your point is. The non mobile statue QBs are a dying breed. Manning, Brady, Palmer are probably the last QBs of that type left. Not coincidentally they are 3 of the 4 oldest starting QBs in the league. Today kids coming up are more athletic than in the past. They may not have all world speed but they can move and make plays with their feet. Even Glennon can make a play or 2 with his legs. He's not the statue people thought he was. That's the game today.

Stats are for losers. What is the point you're trying to make?My whole point here is that the only non-mobile QB's competing for a championship this year are Manning and Brady... and that's cause they're... Manning and Brady.Offense wins games, Defense and a mobile Qb win championships

The mobile guys have gotta be able to withstand the beating they get and have to be able to stand in the pocket and throw well. Something Kap, Wilson, and Cam can do. Something I'm not convinced JFF can do.

You conveniently left this part out of your opening statement.
Luck is mobile, so isn't Flacco and Rogers. It's not about mobility, sure its a good thing but being a QB is about throwing the football and taking off for a 5 yard gain on 3 and 4 is great. But doing so and missing a chance at a big passing play is not so great. You think of guys like Wilson, Kaep and RGIII as guys that can run because they do, often. But guys like Rogers, Luck, Flacco and even Brees can run just rarely find themselves in a position where running is their best option. So would I like a runner? Sure, but only if I can be assured that he'll exhaust his passing options before running.
Bortles is mobile
I am a fan ofvthe smasg mouth defense/run game combined with a mobile QB combination used by the 49ers, Seahawks, and Panthers. I would like the Bucs to follow this model. I'm confident Lovie will have the defense rolling. We just need Manziel or Bortles. If we can't get one of them, i would trade Glennon for Tyrod Taylor and give him a shot. If he fails, try to get Mariota or Winston next year.
Even Glennon can make a play or 2 with his legs. He's not the statue people thought he was. That's the game today.
Glennon's mobility (if that's what you wanna call it) puts zero stress on a defense.
Rivers is not mobile. You're reaching. Imagine that. Kap, Cam and Wilson have three of the top defenses in the league and damn good rushing attacks to go with it. They also have very good TEs. They're good QBs but there's a lot more to their teams success than just their ability to run.
