Well my fears are coming to fruition. This isn't good
wow!
Hopefully we can get a Shanahan disciple...
Plenty of experienced OCs on the market. I hope the Bucs do not do an in house hire.

They almost have to. It’s probably that or a new OC who is willing to take the risk like Canales did. Bowles is sort of a lame duck
i think Canales was something like the 7th choice or candidate? I thought I read that somewhere.

With the way the season played out there is a chance outside OCs would want to come here.
An in house hire isn't something that works well when you don't have enough talent on that side of the ball. If the Bucs were brimming with talent on offense I would say an in house hire would be fine. But that isn't the case so you need an experienced OC to scheme.
Fire Bowles and hire one of the top tier offensive minded coaches. Ben Johnson and Monken seem like good candidates
Freddie Kitchens has experience with Bowles from their time in AZ and Mayfield.
Hard to believe he's going to that shitshow. IMHO he's not ready to be a HC. Maybe he didn't like working for Bowles.

It is another feather in his cap even if it does not work out.
But if Evero leaves that makes it harder for Canales to replace him and has to look for a DC.

Perhaps, but would an outside hire force Baller and Co to learn a new system....AGAIN, thats "set up to fail 101 AND = significant likelyhood of inconsistency until the new system is "understood" and there's a BIG DIF between "knowing a thing, and understanding a thing." Whatever happens, I just cross my fingers and hope "all's well that ends well" and all that...
Just more inconsistency for poor Baker. Has he ever had an OC for 2 years in a row?
If they sign Mayfield it would be Thad Lewis

Seems too green. Would hope they do their due diligence. Feel like thad was just playing the game. Even Canales likely had called plays in a prior life.
Well...this kind of sucks, but we'll see what happens. Wouldn't be shocked, honestly, if they pull Mayfield in up there. I don't know enough about Thad Lewis to know if he can do the job or not. They may want to try to find a McVay disciple, as the offense is similar and can do a lot of the same things in the right hands. Or, they could go a completely different direction on offense. Going to be an interesting off-season. I do have to wonder if the Glazers re-think keeping Bowles on now that Canales is gone, considering the struggle to get into the playoffs.
