Read these forums a lot, lurk here often, and I'm convinced most of you are absolutely biased and blind about this pick. Let me preface this saying I was a huge Winston critic, I am as big of Gator fan as you will find, and wanted him to fail from the very start. That being said this guy is the best prospect since Luck, and it really shouldn't be up for debate. His game has zero holes, he has tremendous arm talent, pocket presence, and football IQ that is off the charts. Not to mention Winston is a natural leader, somebody who can come into OBP and completely change our culture. This is the same guy who was getting into people's faces when he was a redshirt on an undefeated team. He has balls, the type of balls that will allow him to come in right away, and demand command from our guys. I hear about all the off the field stuff, I get it. This guy doesn't have JFF issues, or Justin Blackmon problems, he's just a kid, who did college stuff. If twitter existed in 1996 how different would Manning have been viewed? If you ask me I have more worries about Mariota being a "pussy", and his lack of fire, and leadership. That is much more alarming, than whatever Winston has gotten into. People want to talk about work ethic and willingness to learn, let's be real Winston is a smarter and a harder working player than Mariota. Hence why he is lightyears ahead as a pocket passer.Mariota isn't a 1st round pick, he isn't even the second best QB in this draft, that title belongs to Cardale Jones. Mariota has shaky footwork in the pocket, can't work through progressions, and gets happy feet in the pocket. He has a bunch of holes, and blatant short commings...His stats... go look at the guy who came before him at Oregon...I'll give you a hint, he lit the world on fire numbers wise, declared early, and went undrafted. Mariota is a great college player, a humble individual, but he's being sold to us. He is being propped up by Nike and Oregon to justify that program, and validate their success. I know when I'm being sold on something, and the Narrative is pushing Mariota far to hard. Winston is what we need to get this culture changed, to start winning these close games in the 4th that have plagued us for years. It's time for you guys to watch the tape, because the eye in the sky doesn't lie. Numbers look great when players are drawn open for you, and 3/4th of your yards come from screens, not too mention you are playing against gassed defenses, where players are running wide open. Ohio State dared Mariota to beat them with his arm, if any team is daring him to do that, we have a serious problem. Open your eyes people stop drinking the ESPN hype machine cool aid. Mariota doesn't make big boy plays, he's coddled in the passing game, and hides behind flowers and cries when he losses. I will find a new team to cheer for if our front office is dumb enough to draft him. The pick is clear, the choice is obvious, it's Jameis Winston. For those of you who are on that anti Winston bandwagon time, maybe Cardale Jones should be your guy. He showed more NFL talent in 3 games, than Mariota has flashed in 3 years.
