That quote doesn't speak well of JTS.One reason Bowles may stand in the way . . because of this from our very talented defense. . . ya know . . that was going to win us a Super Bowl in 2022:
"Bowles was specifically asked what his reaction would’ve been had someone told him before last season that Vea would go on to be his leading sacker. His response said a lot about the state of the team’s pass rush as it stands right now.
“I wouldn’t have believed you,” Bowles said. “This is the first 3-4 [defense] team I’ve been a part of where the outside linebackers have not led the team in sacks."
LVD is the “leader” of that defense. LVD is the LB that actually produces.
White is just a hype guy, who occasionally makes a splash play in between his overall abysmal body of work game after game.
As I said, much to the chagrin of our Charmin soft Byron fluffer, the honks and fanboys get psyched out after he makes a sack or occasional big hit.
But, then ignore the multiple TD’s he’ll give up in coverage the same game.
All flash, no substance.
My biggest fear is that we extend this clown and do so for huge money.
Would be a disastrous mistake by JL.
And, to be blunt, he shouldn’t give a shit what a lame duck HC wants or doesn’t want.
You're talking football in the abstract and I agree, but I was posting business/human nature realism. I hope you're right
Also not sure Bowles is so much a "lame duck" HC as he's being given an opportunity. I doubt the Bucs begin with the belief that 2022 was really a SB year but for Bowles (the premise for lame duck). If the Bucs were to be competitive this year and, for example, do so with solid defense but poor QB play he probably stays the coach in 2024.
Licht still has a way out with White so we will see

Not at all. I don't think they believe in him, but we also have a 30 year old proven DE with an Achilles
Will he do it or will he will hold on to his failures and cripple the team long term.
Super Bowl = failures?
Licht has had successes and failures. What we're left with now is more failures. You (and Licht) can take the blue pill and keep living off those 2020 and 2021 seasons. Or you can take the red pill and realize this roster is loaded with bad contracts and the ones that are removable must be removed for the sake of the franchise, despite the negative impact it will have on Licht's body of work. White, Gage and Jensen count $39M against the cap. There is $21M in savings this year and $18M in savings next year by getting rid of them now.
Blue pill = dEr SuPeR bOwL
Red Pill = These are low impact players making outrageous money.
This is a good example of the "monopoly money" side of things. You're taking a break from something to talk about a Super Bowl winning GM's "bad contracts."
You dont have to take a blue pill or a red pill to not care too much about your "taking a break" opinion on contracts especially when the game is about winning or losing football on the football field and we are paying now for a SB then. I get the point that financial management is part of running a successful football team, but you would say they had a "failure" of a season when they won the SB using your own "bad contracts" standard, so it comes off as hilarious second guessing and chest beating ("its no hindsight, I called it") . . especially with someone like Jensen because you are consistently against him to the point of stating (presumably with a straight face) that the Bucs should have CUT him when Brady said he was coming back . . in favor of a CHEAPER center. ROFLMAO . . talk abut out of touch with reality
sadly I think David is done in Tampa , JL didn’t sound all that excited about bring him back .
im ok with it , get young , get cap straight and get after it 2024
I doubt the Bucs begin with the belief that 2022 was really a SB year
Lolz, this dipshit is completely clueless.
Scouring the net is working out really well for you. Keep it up.

the actual FULL quote for the honest crowd

Buggsy, the irony of you SHORTENING a quote

Bowles comments on White
😳
Trading Devin White would get the Bucs a draft choice to replace him but will do little to resolve the salary cap problem.
Saves 11 million. That's significant.
I love "fans" that are fine with getting rid of all of our players and tanking, really shows who you are.
Devin White is not being traded.
Mike Evans is not being traded.
Chris Godwin is not being traded.
Ryan Jensen is not being traded.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not and SHOULD NOT tank this season.
I don't give a DAMN how bad you want Todd Bowles fired, if you want us to tank you're a loser.
Will he do it or will he will hold on to his failures and cripple the team long term.

1. I have a disdain for Jensen because he's not that good, plays an unimportant position if you were going to rank them 1-22, and he has a contract that does not match his skill level nor his position.
2. Jensen's contract expired at the end of 2021. He was a UFA this time last year. So I never said the Bucs should cut him, I said they should have let him walk which brings me to...
3. The Bucs drafted Jensen's replacement in the 3rd round in 2021. Appropriate pick and salary for the talent level and position.
4. For some senseless reason the Bucs gave Jensen a ridiculous contract.
5. Instead of giving Jensen that contract they could have signed Haason Reddick to replace JPP. Better player, much more important position, scheme fit and played for Arians.
Licht blew the 2022 off-season with these stupid ass signings.
Will he do it or will he will hold on to his failures and cripple the team long term.

the part in BOLD . . LMAO
JC . . game 2 last season . . a DT blows past our cheap Jensen replacement, sacks Brady and breaks his arm, he's done for the season. The next day Licht steps to the podium and says "yeah, but we saved some money by letting our Pro Bowl, SB-winning Center walk."
You are good with the Monopoly money though
Not sure why its even interesting to deal in fantasy, but its your thing so. The real world does NOT exist in a vacuum. The GM re-signs Super Bowl winning players when Brady comes back -- especially the guy that works closest with Brady.
That's the way the REAL world usually works
(Devin White likely gets a gross deal because the real world is . . well . . real . . ugh)
I doubt the Bucs begin with the belief that 2022 was really a SB year

im pretty sure 90% of fans thought it was in reach, as well as the players and mainly Tom Brady. He wouldn’t have come back to the team otherwise
sure we have had slot of bad omens - Marpet, Bruce and gronk all retiring, Brady having some off field issues, Jensen injury, etc but no way anyone but Bowles leg Humpers thought we wouldn’t have a winning record
I love "fans" that are fine with getting rid of all of our players and tanking, really shows who you are.

I don’t want any of those players gone and i agree need to keep talent
what i mean by soft tank is more a comparison to recent years in order to get cap right for 2024 season
things like taking all of bradys cap hit this year instead of spreading to 2024
starting kyle trask
cutting guys like fournette, brate, smith, gage, etc doesnt signal tank as they can be replaced cheaper but how they approach or replace gholston, hicks, david, dean, smb, and edwards will be telling
now if they get in QB marker including Jimmy G and Mayfield at the least, i may change my tune but if the plan is trask and you consider that the Bucs trying than either you are a blind homer or lack wisdom that comes with age
