Davis 8

Evans 4.8

David 2.3

Mason 1.1

2026

Godwin 7.5

Jensen 4.8

Barrett 2.9

Brady 2.8

Davis 2.7

Evans 2.6

Mason 1

Julio 0.9

Total $25.2

Terrible job by the Glazers for allowing this

Dang... this hurts to look at... Brate making that money in 2024 and 2025 is criminal.

Julio making 1M from 24-26 makes NO SENSE! Why, why, why did we sign him?

Mason and Jensen void years also hurt to look at… Absolutely brutal cap situation…

At the risk of stating the obvious, most  guys on each list are players that we were obviously retaining with Brady in a Super Bowl run.

Even a guy like Julio, fans would be crying over why we didn’t sign him if the team was better but in need of a WR because of injury or something

No one wants to pay the bill now for what they wanted then

JC is an insufferable poster. Captain hindsight says every player who suffers injury was a bad signing. Constantly downplays the teams ability to resign players, and the fact the salary cap is going wayyyyy up in the next couple years. Thinks because he knows how to look up Spotrac he’s somehow more clairvoyant than Licht and crew.

a JC ran team would look a lot like the Commanders or the Colts 😂

JC is amusing if you take the posts for what they are.

Sort of like a cub scout saying Patton was overrated because he used too much diesel to get to Messina.

Trading Mason saves $5.3 million in cap this year, but also saves $1.08 million that was counting against cap each year in 2024, 2025, 2026.

of course the cry baby bitch JC probably didn’t realize this is how void year contracts work, and will fail to just be a decent human and go “you know what guys I was mistaken an unaware that they were able to clear those future books”.

It's not hindsight when I said it before it happened. Told you Barrett and Jensen were going to be shit contracts. Wanted Creed Humphrey at #32. That's called foresight. It's a skill that you don't have.

We're capped out the next 3 years and are about to have Baker Mayfield be the QB. Licht put together losing teams with Lovie, Koetter and Arians before Brady. Imagine what this is about to look like with Bowles and no cap room. You'll be crying to look like the Commanders or Colts in October.

So far the Bucs are apparently cap compliant, have re-signed Dean and have picked up more draft capital with the trade of Mason. But I am curious to see what new UFAs the Bucs bring into the fold given their current cap situation.

Every time I see that number for Julio Jones, my blood pressure rises. I can remember before the Bucs signed him Donkey Hunter and Kermit were two of few on this board asking, "WHY"?!?!

At the end of the season we were originally

  • over Cap Space: -$55,031,921
  • Offense: $177,788,346
  • Defense: $100,147,238
  • Special: $7,020,079

Bucs have restructured contracts with veterans Vita Vea, Carlton Davis, Ryan Jensen and Chris Godwin to create $44 million in 2023 cap space.

The Bucs are moved Gage’s $10 million salary cap hit to $7 million, but making it fully guaranteed.

Trading Mason allows the Bucs to save $5.272 million worth of salary cap space. The Bucs will absorb a dead cap hit of $4.304 million this season from Mason’s contract but also saves $1.08 million that was counting against cap each year in 2024, 2025, 2026.

Combined with the expected cuts of  Leonard Fournette and Cameron Brate - The Bucs can save $2,030,000 if they release Brate, $3,470,588 if they let go of Fournette, and $3,250,000 by cutting Succop. Those three combined get the Bucs $8,750,580.

Evans is on the last year of his current deal. The Bucs owe him $14.5 million in cash on a $23,698,500 salary cap hit. If the Bucs decided to give him a two-year, $40 million extension they could lower his 2023 cap hit by $11,500,000.

White, 2023 on his fifth-year option for $11,706,000. The team could tear that option up and replace it with a brand-new contract. That contract I have previously projected at five years and $102.5 million. If that were to happen, they could save an additional $2,206,000 on the cap.

without those above moves we’re currently here:

  • Team Cap Space: $2,996,203
  • Offense: $115,816,110
  • Defense: $77,348,119
  • Special: $7,520,079
