Maybe he's still in the plan for 2014?Scott Smith ?@ScottSBucs 51mCoach Smith said he has met with Carl Nicks and Nicks' rehab is going well. Said Nicks is excited about the upcoming season.
Yeah....he's excited to pocket millions of dollars again for doing nothing. Wish that dude would just fucking retire.
Mixed emotions on this one. Would love to have a healthy Nicks on the line, but really dont want another season of hoping week in and out he might play.
Joe Smith ?@TBTimes_JSmith 1hNew #Bucs coach Lovie Smith said guard Carl Nicks has been at One Buc often, is excited for upcoming season. He's not missing any rehab sessions baby!#CMG
Said earlier, months ago, that if this Titan can get his trunk back to good, which we will know has happened by the START of camp, he is a moving car wreck beast. If he gets comfortable, Dotson can improve slightly on his career arc, and sign a guy like Mack, the Bucs may be sittin pretty. They draft Tiny from The Vols, and they have a big Oline! If he is unavailable for TC, he is donesauce. Chalk outline his career. I think with Lovie as coach, he comes back.

No, he's pocketing millions regardless. You should be wishing he comes back and can fill a significant void on this offensive line.

If he gets re-injured at practice then the Bucs would owe him another $7M of cash.

JC, I'm confused. I know we paid him a large chunk of his gauranteed money last year. I thought we had more to pay him regardless? If he gets put back on the IR next year with another injury, we're on the hook but if he's truly healthy, I don't see an excessive risk with that.
Why wouldn't anyone want nicks to come back.if dude puts together 16 games he's the best guard in football.
Good to hear!! Carl come back to play for a real head coach.

I feel like I heard that tune for 7-8 months last year only to see the team place him on IR. Nothing to see here.

All of his guaranteed money has been paid. Not cap wise, but cash wise. The Bucs do not have to write Nicks another check, unless he gets re-injured, then they have to pay him his $7M base salary.

How? We have only paid him just a hair under $18 million and his guaranteed amount is $25 million. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/carl-nicks/
