Not really enamoured. Would rather they draft Watkins for that speed in open space element, and go hard after a QB like Garappolo, who would really thrive (IMO), in a quick hit, one read system, (bubble screen, flare outs, etc...), and he has the accuracy to get the ball to his receivers to make plays after the catch.Garappolo working with Tedford, and Watkins/VJax/TD Mike/Dougernaut/RB group is pretty damned intriguing.

Yeah, but are you saying that Garappolo cannot do those things that Carr did?And further, it would mean the Bucs could be stupid and draft a wideout like Watkins, to add some speed-in-space to the plodding Bucs offense...I like Watkins, but I am not a fan of drafting a wideout early like that unless they are superstuds. And I am not sure Watkins is that. He is no Mega-anything, that is for sure, but Garappolo/Watkins/Jax/Williams/Dougernaut/Tedford sounds better than Carr/Williams/Vjax/Dougernaut/Tedford, IMO.
He probably can. I like Garappolo. But if you think Carr (or Garappolo) can be your franchise guy, you can't risk passing on him at 7 then trading back up.

Carr has been tearing up the Senior Bowl from what I've read.
As a Fresno native, Fresno State student, and Fresno State fan, I couldn't be happier. However, I am not nearly as skilled as the professional executives, plus I don't have the resources available to rate players. All I know is that every Fresno State fan knew that we could always come back and win with him, he was so clutch, all year. We lost 2 games, one in which we scored 52 points, and the other vs USC, which swoops up all of the elite talent on both sides of the ball from California.

Two things.1. Carr said Cal stopped recruiting him after another guy committed early. I think that while their personal connection is not trivial, there is a limit to its importance.2. Carr seems to be exactly the kind of prospect coaches like Tedford think they can coach up (has all the physical tools, 'correctable' mechanical issues, coachable, clean off the field). Usually guys are who they are by the time they reach the NFL (ironically with Rodgers being a recent exception).
I would be ok with this as long as manziel, bortles, and tb are already off the board.Carr, while not my favorite, has all the physical tools needed with the exception of terrific arm strength and the normal giant hands qb's usually have.He has his upsides though, and as long as there is some competition with glennon, I'm all_good.
He has the arm., that has been the talk in Mobile about how well he spins the ball through the wind and how it arrived too fast for guys used to weaker armed guys.
