I would be thrilled with those hires. Angelo helped build two Super Bowl teams. Name me another available GM who's done that?

Revis isn't worth $16 mill in today's NFL where teams will go 3-4 wide every down.  He doesn't cut the field in half anymore.I would wager that Revis is expendable now and his $16 mill.

we'll see what a new GM thinks, but the salary amount doesn't matter on a team under the cap so far and of course a CB that takes away the other teams best receiver is very valuable, even in today's NFL. Maybe Revis is not that anymore, we'll see.

The actual cap and the money the Glazers are willing to spend may not be the same.  They are operating a $2 billion global soccer franchise across the pond.  You do realize that if they are $20 mill under the cap that is $20 million EXTRA in their pockets, right?  So you may THINK that isn't affecting other roster spots but in reality it is quite possible that it is.  And ROI is huge as well.  Did Revis EARN his $16 mill this year?  Most on here would say no...not even close.

Once again Charlie mentions that Freeman's problems trace back to the 2011 season, and that the team was aware of this back then.  Why hasn't Pewter Report shared any of this?

CC is not upholding journalistic integrity when he keeps mentioning problems indirectly if they were told to him off the record. Walter of walterfootball also says things like "Free has problems, but I can't get into it."If they can't say it, then it was off record info and they shouldn't bring it up.

I am sure the Glazers appreciate your financial advice . .  and on roster spots  . . . anything is "quite possible," I guess

If the Glazers cared about money, they wouldn't have fired a coach with 3 years left on his contract.

They've rolled over extra cap to the next year since the new CBA allowed it.

I did not offer any financial advice.  I simple gave alternative reasoning to your comment.  You state that salary doesn't matter and you state it as FACT.  It is only your opinion as is mine but to dismiss the reality of a lower cap than the league mandated one is obtuse.

Yeah but all those 3-4 WRs aren't equal in talent.  If Revis can lock down the #1, you just need defenders good enough to cover the other guys.  Unfortunately our ex-coach focused on guys that could stop the run instead of cover.

Lol, that doesn't mean there is "$20 million extra in their pockets". You really have no clue at all how it works, do you?The Buccaneers bring in a certain amount of money. No one really knows what that number is, because the NFL is notoriously tight-lipped about their finances. However, there is a certain number that you can deduce from contracts. For the sake of this discussion, let's say its $100 million, which is pretty close to the real number.Well, the cap is $120 million or so. So, just because there is $20 million not spent doesn't mean that $20 million magically appears in their pockets. There is an overall amount of money produced each year by the franchise, yes, but the Glazers probably assume a standard amount of money each year as their "profits" and "bonuses" with little fluctuation. Any "extra" money is re-invested into the franchise through a variety of financial methods both simple and exotic.Large-scale corporations like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have tens of thousands of different parts which cost different amounts of money and require a team of accountants and financial experts to run them efficiently. You can't simplify them in such a way.

They only have to spend to the cap floor not the actual cap and even those numbers are misleading.  Feel free to do the research and I'll be the first to issue a mea culpa the DAY the Glazers spend their fully allotted cap amount.

What the Bucs' Plan Should Be After Firing Greg Schiano, Mark Dominik Published Dec. 30, 2013 By Charlie Campbell - @draftcampbell Schiano was 11-21 in two seasons and was never a good fit in the NFL. His strict style rubbed players the wrong way. Some of the Bucs' best players told WalterFootball.com privately that they didn't like how Schiano was using them and that he wasn't putting them in a position to do what they do best. As one source said, "He doesn't understand that these aren't college kids where you can threaten to yank their scholarship. These are grown men and many of them are getting paid more than he is. He can't use the college style to get them to play together."

Campbell 100% nailed that one.

That's true, but he also ran a number of very weak drafts for the Bears in the last years before we was fired.  His record is pretty mixed, but he does know how to manage an organization.  His connections with the Bucs could play in his favor with the Glazers, if they liked him when he was here before.
