With all the upsets and close games, who do you think gets left out of the playoffs?
tOSU - they probably stay in, ranked around 10th. Brutal for whatever team draws them.
Miami - they should be left out. 2 losses and no key wins. Should have lost 2-3 more games.
Indiana - with one loss it's hard to leave them out especially with all the upsets so they stay in.
Boise - 1 loss in a close one to Oregon. Gotta keep them in
Georgia - if they lose the SEC championship game that's 3 losses but I don't think there's any scenario where they get left out. Media ESPN darlings.
SMU - win and in. The team you wanna draw in the playoffs.
Bama - 3 losses. Not deserving. Leave them out.
Tenn - win and in, otherwise they are out imo.
Ole Miss - I think they'll find a way to sneak them in even with 3 losses.
ASU - Win and in.
I don't think any team with 3 losses should get in but my gut says the SEC will get an exception to this rule in one of their worst years of the past decade.
Locks:
Oregon
PSU
Texas
ND
Thoughts?
Oh forgot about SC... I think they have a shot after beating Clemson.
Agree on Miami. They had their shot against a weak schedule and lost 2 games.
it is IMHO pretty simple:
4x Big10 (Oregon, Penn State, Indiana and Ohio State), ND, Boise State, 3x SEC (Texas, Georgia and Tennessee), Big12 champ, ACC champ and then one more, no clue who!
much more complicated is how they are going to make their bracket and who is getting home field advantage
whatever, we'll see, but it was definitely the best college season ever!
Goergia shouldn't have to win to be in. They're playing an extra game vs the #2 team in the country.
So Texas and PSU get rewarded for losing their championship games by giving them the easiest path.
Neat.
And we get OSU or Tennessee... What a joke of a seeding system.
ASU and Boise getting the 3 and 4 seed throws everything off.
ASU and Boise getting the 3 and 4 seed throws everything off.
The automatic bids for conference winners needs to go away. All conferences aren’t created equally and they shouldn’t be treated equally. Just go by the rankings.
participation field is OK, seeding is awful, oregon and georgia were heavily punished for being two best teams
or ...wait a bit ... maybe committee simply wants big games in quarters as well? looks likely to me!
