ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Panthers will re-sign free agent DE Charles Johnson.Johnson flirted with the Bucs and Giants over the last few days, visiting both clubs likely in an effort to drive up the Panthers' contract offer. One of the best players in Panthers history, 29-year-old Johnson will stay with the team that selected him 83rd overall in the 2007 draft. Although Johnson managed one sack during an injury-plagued 2015 regular season, he showed he still has gas in the tank with a dominant postseason. Besides perhaps Kony Ealy, Johnson arguably had the best performance by a Carolina defender in Super Bowl 50. He piled up nine tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles in the Panthers' three playoff games.
