I think taking another big possession receiver over a top TE would be pretty dumb. Ebron, Amaro, and Jenkins all offer the same things Mike Evans does in the passing game, but also give us that stud TE that can help the run game. I wouldn't completely hate the pick. Evans is intriguing and might end up being really good in the NFL. Evans and VJax on the outside with Mike Will in the slot could be dangerous. Plus, VJax is getting old and might start falling off soon....so it would be nice to have his replacement on the roster and learning from him. Still, it just doesn't seem like the smartest pick at this time. Especially if we are picking top 10.
Ain't that the truth man. If we keep Schiano and Marky Mark Dominick it will say that the Glazers are comfortable with a mediocre football team and front office running it. This pick also be making a lot of sense if they stay cuz it probably means we will be stupid enough to make Glennon our QB. If we do that, which I hope to God we don't, then you probably should surround Glennon with as many weapons as possible and find a successor to Jackson. For a few years this pick would give us a pretty good 3-some. Why reach for TE with a top 10 pick? Which TE is worth taking there? I agree we need one, but we cant afford to reach there.

And to some extent Mike Williams, not as big but still a outphysical you possession receiver. We need a quicker Wideout who can stretch a defense and create some space

So draft a guy in the first to replace a guy we already have that won't need replacing for 2 or 3 years, and let gaping holes in our roster go unanswered? Doesn't seem like a good strategy.

that's true, but that doesn't mean you draft his exact replica to be ready when Vjax is washed up in 3 years. If we go receiver in the 1st, it better be Watkins or Lee, not Evans
