With the Sanchize chants starting up again, I have gotten to the point where I'm really considering that an offensive system has more to do with a players success than a players inherent talent. Sanchez has thrown for 300yards in 3 straight games, and for that matter....Nick Foles was the highest rated QB last year I'm pretty sure, and who the hell was Nick Foles anyway? We have Matt Cassel in New England vs Matt Cassel KC. There was even a guy that stepped in for Rodgers and threw for like 400 yards or something a couple of years ago. The point is, these offensive systems are making these, essentially "nobodies", and making them look like friggin Rick Flair out there. Now some players are just fantastic...Manning has been able to do it in two different systems without a hitch, but can we honestly say that some of the current "elite" QBS of our age arent just a product of their systems (not saying that years of success and a developed winners attitude doesn't rub off on some of them)? This is important because we all have our eye on a QB in the draft. My concern is that it doesn't matter which QB we take, they wont succeed without the right coaching personnel and offensive system in place, and it doesnt matter who we pick if we have the right coaching staff and system in place they will be Rick Flairs out there. I really feel like Mariota is a system QB, thats not a bad thing if the bucs implement a system that he can thrive in. Winston on the other hand, seems a little sturdier to me as far as being able to thrive in multiple systems with the right play calling, but I can see him joining Mike Williams rap group and hanging out with Pacman Jones. Bah, Im just rambling...any thoughts?
