Cardinals' Darnell Dockett calls Chiefs free agent Branden Albert 'new teammate'.By Eric Edholm Mar 8th, 2014Dock_Zps191D4B31.JpgArizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett has not been promoted to general manager. But if he had his druthers, he'd sign Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Branden Albert — and by the way Dockett was talking on Twitter on Friday, he might have an idea of what GM Steve Keim intends to do when the market opens Tuesday afternoon. Although Dockett later deleted the tweet he sent, he referred to Albert as his "homie/new teammate," caught in this RT from NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal:Dock1_Zps1A198B10.Gif Dockett later scoffed that he was "tampering" by calling Albert his teammate and said he was joking. Albert remains the property of the Chiefs and cannot be contacted by other teams — such as, ahem, the left tackle-needy Cardinals — until the "legal tampering" period, which begins on Saturday. Dockett further tried to diffuse the situation with a series of tweets that included saying he thought the Cardinals were going to rake in several of the NFL's top free agents available.Dock2_Zps99A96Ac6.Gif6Ead3887-6C0E-4Dfc-8418-5F2D40Ed86Bc_Zps79D46102.Gif See, people? Likely nothing to get fired up about here as far as Dockett potentially breaking the rules. That said, could Keim or someone else in the organization have told the loquacious Dockett about their future plans on Albert, or any other free agent-to-be? It's certainly possible. It's also possible that whatever person who might have told him said plans already reached out to Dockett with an immediate gag order. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/cardinals--darnell-docket-calls-chiefs-free-agent-to-be-branden-albert-his--new-teammate-215441806.html
