NFL coaches on the Hot Seat: Mike McCoy, Mike Pettine join the 'party'Nate Davis    USA Today4:36 p.m. EST November 10, 2015Hot_Zpssxngi2Gw.jpg(Photo: Joe Camporeale, USA TODAY) A blistering hot seat has already claimed two NFL head coaches this season, but you can bet more will follow in the coming weeks and months. Without further ado, our weekly ranking of coaches most in danger of losing their jobs:1. Jim Caldwell, Detroit Lions: He received a stay of execution during a bloody bye week in Motown which claimed his bosses. But the next general manager almost never keeps the coach he inherits, and it’s not like Caldwell has built a compelling case for himself. Last week: 22. Chuck Pagano, Indianapolis Colts: The firing of offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, inspired play from Andrew Luck and a badly needed victory over the previously unbeaten Denver Broncos should quiet the mayhem around Pagano's team during the bye week … if only temporarily. Last week: 13. Mike Pettine, Cleveland Browns: If they were unwilling to unload their best players at the trade deadline, are they willing to give up on Pettine, too? Tough to rule anything out with this franchise, especially as competitive losses have morphed into ugly defeats lately. Last week: not ranked4. Mike McCoy, San Diego Chargers: Monday night's collapse made it five losses in a row and seven of eight for McCoy. In fairness, his team is a M*A*S*H unit. But the NFL is nothing if not unfair, especially if your franchise is headed to a glitzy market that demands winners and stars, even under the headset. Last week: not ranked5. Jim Tomsula, San Francisco 49ers: His team beat a club with a winning record while being led by fantasy-league flunkies Blaine Gabbert, Shaun Draughn and Quinton Patton. The burner under Tomsula gets turned down for now. Last week: 36. Gus Bradley, Jacksonville Jaguars: Another week, another tough loss ... which is far better than the embarrassing blowouts that marked Bradley's first two seasons. We're just not sure owner Shad Khan can stomach another year of painstaking "progress." Last week: 57. Jay Gruden, Washington Redskins: No one really expected you to beat the New England Patriots, Jay, but that won't be the case at home against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. And by the way, how did a run game ranked first in the NFL in the season's first month dissolve into one averaging 43 yards over the last four weeks? Did we mention the Saints and their non-existent defense give you a prime chance to get off life support? Last week: 6Dropped out (for now): Chip Kelly, Philadelphia Eagles; Lovie Smith, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
