I mean, realistically, just how much does this guy think Coen should be running the ball?

40 times a game…

…but only if Emmitt Smith 2.0 is getting 65% of the carries.

Sean Tucker is averaging 6.2 yards per carry but is getting less than 3 carries a game. It's a problem.

Listen, I was banging the “Tucker needs more carries” drum long before you were.

But, there’s clearly a reason why he’s #3 on the depth chart.

Hopefully, in the offseason, he can work on his pass pro, and slide up.

And, while I agree that Coen has been a little too “cute” lately with his play sequencing; I’m not stupid enough to want to jet a guy who’s led a Top-5 offense as a rookie play caller.

yeah anyone still clamoring for Tucker over Bucky are the same type that thought Luke McCown was the answer!

I'm not clamoring Tucker over Bucky. I'm clamoring Bucky and Tucker getting a combined 30+ carries a game and White staying on the bench where he belongs.

for this upcoming Washington game, we should have a heavy dose of run game, i will give you that

Washington ranks 30th with 137 yards allowed on the ground.  Would have to think Bucs coaching staff is smart enough to have a heavy rush attack this week.

Bucky is the bell cow clearly.  And looks like White didnt even get a carry last week.

Tucker out carried him in not only week 18 but also week 17.

White needs to hold onto the football and appears to be in the doghouse

If for no other reason than to keep the Washington offense on the sideline

Ideally, the Bucs offense starts fast and grabs the lead and then runs and runs some more

Why do I feel like JC is Snook re-incarnated?  "Gotta pay the troll toll to get into that boys hole"

I feel like JC expects Coen to have an 80/20 run pass ratio...all he does is bitch during games about run run run run....here's the facts according to statmuse.  This offense is just 108 total yards, .6 PPG, and 4 TD's behind the highest ranked offense in team history(2021/also year 3 of Arians) and is the only other non Arians run offense to rank remotely in that stratosphere.

As for blaming the defense....I like Bowles the person..I think he has a calming presence but the other shortcomings that have been listed ad-nauseum just can't make up for it....His defense is like wet tissue paper and gives up big plays and points at the worst possible times.  Look no further than N.O marching down the field at the end of the first half to retake the 10 point lead last week....Let's not act as if this is some new development, it's been happening regularly the past 3 years.

Now if I'm the Glazers, and Coen is willing to come back next year at a much higher salary and with the assistant HC titles as coach in waiting.. I'd demand that Bowles bring in a defensive play caller...I don't think that would fly though because I feel like Bowles would stubbornly rather sink calling his own plays rather than allow someone else to run his defense....This team I feel is at worst a 3-4 loss team with even an average defense

agreed

hell, maybe even better

The Bucs defense has been roughly average since the bye and they went 6-1?

Give the 2024 Bucs the Bowles 2023 scoring defense and they may be 12 or 13 wins this season.

Bucky is the bell cow clearly.

I love Bucky to death but he is not a bell cow. He's a lead back but he cannot survive an NFL seasoning carrying the ball 25 times a game.

Rams are about to learn this lesson with Kyren Williams and that's why they drafted Corum.

Bucky should be in the 15-20 touches per game range.

White 10 touches.

Tucker 3-5 touches.

What about 2025?

I know the potential for coaching changes makes everything up in the air but IF hypothetically it stayed the same would they try to make Tucker the counterpart to Irving and maybe White is the change up guy?

I bet we address RB/FB in the draft this year. Kind of agree that Bucky isn’t currently a bell cow in general, but he has assumed RB1 position.

Also just think Rachaad White either was dinged up, or just didn’t grade out as particularly useful against the Saints run defense. Additionally, Bucky looked much improved in blitz pick-up/pass protection.

Think that Bucky has earned his spot, and that White is more of a situational piece now.

Bucky’s slight frame will have to be bulked up a bit (not sure how much he can add), so the wear & tear is a concern. Longevity will be an issue.

Depends who our rbs are. White and Tucker are FA if memory serves.

Bucky shifty style works well against LBs like Davis who wanna square up.

White runs like Leveon Bell and it hasn't worked as well lately.

I didnt think about the FA aspect of it.  That means they could have an entirely different set up, except for Irving

exactly

It can work and he does a lot of good things, but his style jumps off the screen when you watch how Irving succeeds.

Will be interesting to see what happens with RB2 in this playoff game.  If we get up and go into run mode, I guess it will be Tucker. if we are one score ahead or behind, probably White.

Probably depends on how effective The Football Teams pass rush is as well. If they’re disrupting plays, bet White makes an appearance.
