Week one, and I can say with certainty. We are much better off with Grizz as our OC. Think about Barton getting shuffled from calling out blocking assignments and figuring out where a blitz/stunt may be coming from, to being the blindside protection at left tackle.
We are an entirely different team without Wirfs. Period. Grizz did an amazing job in a hostile environment.
Amazing? No
Last year when Coen was missing Evans and Godwin this team slipped badly. Missing this OL along with Godwin Jmac and Ebuka (hobbled the second half) Grizz made great calls, not perfect, but great adjustments. 7 points lost to kicking. Impressed so far.

I disagree. Early he was good with the script, then we shit the bed over and over until Baker and the RBs saved us.
Too much stretching the field and not enough moving the sticks.
I'd give him a B- for the game
I’ll go back to this. Coen hosts those same Texans we just played. If they lose, he will have a losing record as a head coach. Not good.
the RBs saved us.
Interesting tidibit
In 2022, the Bucs ranked last in yards per carry and last in total rushing yards. Co-playcallers Byron Leftwich and Tom Brady couldn’t scheme up any better. A year later, the Bucs matched those dismal marks with a new offensive coordinator.
And now, per NFL data queen Cynthia Frelund, the Bucs have eclipsed 100 yards rushing for 10 consecutive regular season games. That’s the longest current streak in the NFL! And they busted 100 against the Commandoes in the playoffs.

This is a weird take. If he wins he will be 2-1
If we lose we will be 2-1.
Then what?
And Jags should have won that game..the PI on Hunter on 4th down was absolute trash.

Multiple factors of course but a better play caller will do that. Coen is a master at the run game.

I know it’s early, but Hunter seems underwhelming so far as a Jag. Like he’s less than great at both positions. Considering what they gave up to get him…not good.
Against the Texans the Jags RBs ran for 3.5 YPC. Our backs were 4.2 and 6.5
Mayfield had a 98 rating against the texans (2 TDs and 225 yards 66% completions)
Lawrence had a 56 rating (0 TDs, 220 yds, 50% completion and an INT)
Bucs offense found a way to move the ball against an elite jets defense too and further cobbled up OL. Grizzard continues to impress me with how he is creating mismatches despite missing WRs. Shep, Miller and Egbuka really have been shining lately and I think Tez Johnson may receive his shot to shine too.

Elite Jets defense? They're not even top 15 imo

On paper they have some pretty good players in that front seven so yeah the rag tag Bucs OL did more than good enough. Egbuka was giving Sauce the business too on the perimeter. Something the Bucs O should be proud of for sure. Can't wait to see Wirfs and Godwin back in this offense.
Coen vs Grizzard?? Jaguars Running game was shy of electric
Coen definitely has the Jags running game going, but they lead the league in opponent turnovers per game (3+per game so far) and, at least for now, Lawrence has regressed (Mayfield exploded). So, interested to see how Coen's offense does over a season. Like the Bucs they have a challenging run of games coming up.
hard to compare Grizz because of all the injuries.
