Hopefully "this weeks winnings" is a real thing!
Go Bucs!
@white-tiger after last night’s upset of the Chiefs on Monday Night Football, I think we’ll see a tired less motivated Jags next week. And a Seahawks team that needs to right their ship. I’d take the Seahawks. Different outcome on a different week.
So far looking to be spot on. The Jag only have 6 points through 3 quarters and the Hawks have largely stopped their running game.
Darnold is alsolighting up the Jags D
Yep, looks spot on. Jags can’t seem to get anything going. Scored 12 points, and Lawrence has taken 6 sacks!? It reveals that our o-line did a spectacular job against Seattle.@white-tiger after last night’s upset of the Chiefs on Monday Night Football, I think we’ll see a tired less motivated Jags next week. Baker is a much better QB than horse-man
I think Coen has done an admirable job with the Jags up to this point but the Jags still have a ways to go and are probably another a year out with some additionalplayer to really compete for their division. Colts and Texans are looking formidable right now but maybe the Jags can make some more noise as the season progresses and steal the division away from the Colts or Texans.
As for Grizzard he just keeps chugging along despite missing the majority of the WR core, and with the OL blocking improving he is using Otton more now in the passing game too. Both Johnson's are showing they are more than special team aces and I think Grizzard is using their strengths in a big way to exploit defenses downfield.

for sure
so many variables every comparison requires a grain or two of salt. Mayfield is a huge advantage for Grizz

The Texans are 2-3 and 3rd in their division.
I'd hardly call them formidable.
Coen has done a good job getting the Jags to 4-2, considering the trash can he has under center.

The Texans are a scary 2-3 though and I wouldn't count them out seeing they needed the bye to regroup. As for the Jags Lawrence has a ways to go though because you can see at times his processing needs to accelerate to really unlock Coen's offense. Coen needs probably another OL and WR to really unlock his group on offense. Defensively they have the horses and up to this point the Jaguars offense has been the unsung hero to their surprising start.
Coen definitely has the Jags running game going, but they lead the league in opponent turnovers per game (3+per game so far) and, at least for now, Lawrence has regressed (Mayfield exploded). So, interested to see how Coen's offense does over a season.
The headline and first line ("Jaguars got a reminder of just how integral takeaways have been to their winning ways") after their loss to Seattle . .
Jaguars are 'an undisciplined operation' after a mistake-filled loss to Seattle
Jacksonville Jaguars coach Liam Coen calls his team “an undisciplined operation at the moment.”
As pointed out previously by many, Grizz has Mayfield where Coen has Lawrence and that is a big difference, but Grizz has the Bucs offense averaging 27.5 per game versus Coen's 29 average for last season and Grizz is currently doing that with his 5th 6th and 7th receivers and RB2 and half an O-line out, so thats not too bad.
Maybe Seattle is pretty good (including Darnold) and maybe the Jags are not as good as they may seem. The turnovers:
"Some of those same issues — sloppy play, really — were masked early in the season. Jacksonville feasted on takeaways in wins against Carolina, Houston, San Francisco and Kansas City. Linebacker Devin Lloyd’s 99-yard interception return for a touchdown against Patrick Mahomes was a defensive highlight on Monday night.
Darnold and the Jags defense:
"But the Jags barely touched Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold despite getting defensive end Travon Walker back following wrist surgery. And the lack of pressure led to two crucial plays: a 61-yard touchdown pass from Darnold to Jaxon Smith-Njigba that put the Seahawks ahead in the first half, and a 61-yarder from Darnold to AJ Barner that essentially closed out the game.
“We’ve got to heat ’em up,” Coen said. “Do we need to send (an extra defender) a little bit more? Just didn’t get enough pressure at all.”
The Texans can easily be 3-2 and Seattle could have easily still been unbeaten but they lost to the 49ers and the Bucs in nail biting contests.
The Jags have work to do but they are still sneaky good on defense while their offense has been the surprise of the NFL season so far.
offense has been the surprise of the NFL season so far.
maybe their running game? or, relative to their offense last year?
But, their offense is currently middle of the road overall.
I dont put that on Coen as much as I dont think Lawrence is the guy, but this game against Seattle they had zero turnovers created (the key to their success so far, in my view) and the run game was shut down.
It was a bit like our Denver game last season.
Coen has Lawrence to deal woith and his own choice of Hunter
"Jaguars rookie wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter is continuing to play on both sides of the ball like no other player in recent NFL history, but he’s not making a big impact at either position.
In Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks, Hunter played 59 snaps on offense and 22 snaps on defense, which meant he was on the field for 78 percent of the Jaguars’ offensive plays and 40 percent of the Jaguars’ defensive plays.
On offense, the Jaguars tried to get Hunter involved, but he didn’t do much. He caught four of the seven passes thrown to him, and finished with 15 receiving yards. His best offensive play was a 14-yard catch; on his other six targets he totaled one yard. The most noteworthy play Hunter made was getting called for lining up offside to negate a touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence to Brian Thomas."
Yeah imo just play him on defense and then use him as a decoy on offense for like 5-10 snaps. He should be playing boundary corner primary
