we all know that drafting a RB is cheaper than finding a good one in FA - but same situation as QB: draft is a crap shoot - and you end up with meh.so would I but in a recent interview Bowles sounded like they wanted to add one from the outside and deal with iOL
guess we will see
Then bring in a FA.
The last thing we need is to burn another R1-R4 pick on a running back.
We just may not have that much ‘stretch’ under this cap.
I have never watched Payton Wilson play but I've read things about him prior to that blazing 40. I'm not sure he will be there by the time we pick again in the second round, I know Bucs had an eye on him.
My two favorite defensive players in this draft are Verse and Wilson.
I had hopes Wilson would be there when we draft in round 2, but after his combine, he's more likely to go round 1 or top of 2nd.
Verse is a monster who can play multiple spots in any defense.
He too probably improved his stock into a top 10-15 pick and out of our range.
Plan A) Chop or Latu at edge
Plan B) Johnson-Powers center
Plan) Quiyon Mitchell CB
I'd be happy with any of those 4 players at 26.

Ditto.

And we (well…some of us) know that drafting RB’s within the first 3 rounds is horrible value.
Especially when we have other pressing needs.
“Kirk Cousins is the most valuable player on the market despite an Achilles injury he suffered in October.
One team @DMRussini is keeping an eye on?
The Atlanta Falcons...

TONS of Fields chatter regarding the Falcons. Not as much on Cousins, but those are starting to pick up.
Fields is still so up in the air, but he’s got tools and is still thought to have some ceiling. It’s all about timing. I still think Atlanta sees Baker (at least you know his floor)/Fields (some floor, but unknown ceiling) would be better fits for them (Pats too), but these teams, along with Broncos, have to have someone.
Kirk’s availability may have him in the conversation, but if I’m one of these teams that have to have a QB, his age/injury status & contract make him less attractive than Mayfield/Fields.
Cousins requires a solid o-line, RB and more loaded receiving talent - so I can see Atlanta being “a” fit.
None of them are true FA’s, yet.

QB’s - Spencer Rattler or …can’t believe I’m good with it…JJ - later round options would be intriguing. Someone likely reaches on them before we are ready to take a chance.
What we need at the top of this draft - looks like it will be there.
mid rounds look good for what we need, too.
Really excited for this draft.
He needs to add some iOL to aid White. And a TE that does not bet blown off the LOS before he gets a chance to get the ball. White is fine as a runner but we could certainly use someone else to provide more power to spell him.
"I think he's pretty close to being an elite receiving back and he's made a lot of improvements in running the ball, too, towards the end of the year," noted Jason Licht. "You have to keep in mind [that] he's still young, second year. He's doing a lot of great things. He's one of our better players and we are excited about him.

i have some Charles Sims vibes...
if Bowles want a 50/50 run/pass offense, need to add a better runner to compete with White!

Agreed on Verse, JPJ though. I was fine with Chop at 26 in the past but ive changed my tune a bit. Elite speed but he has Tryon type questions about his physical nature. He def needs to add some strength to his frame bc against better players he got push around a lot. Would be a rotational DE for sure here whereas Verse, Latu are unseating Tryon/Yaya.

Agreed.
I've seen mocks that have him falling in to the 20's, but I just don't he gets that far.

I mean, absolutely flying.
Bowles actually talked about the combine recently and drew a contrast between speed and game speed, saying that a pop out time like that would lead them to look at the film, but nothing more really. They would be looking to see if he plays at that speed.
