" While Aqib Talib was a pain in the ass, he is still considered one of the best cover corners playing today "I stopped reading
Sure is a lot of chirpping going on about gambling with this pick. Guarantee if it goes poorly, the same crowd that doesn't seem to mind rolling the dice now will be the first with the torches and pitchforks outside OBP.
Aqib has ascended to the higher end notables as a CB is concerned. It took media exposure to showcase what he brings. And he gets burnt deep, and he has lower leg issues that will plague him throughout his career (no doubt about that). He was basically given away for nothing, as was LGB, and several other notable players that S was a loser for casting off.Hell, even K2 would have been the best TE on the roster!S was a dumbarse. A true idiot clown. I pray he learns to read.

Based on what?Win or GTFO. Premise has always been simple.NOBODY knows anything about the draft. So it is easy to sit back and bray about how one man's opinion is less than worthy of one's own, but c'mon man...you ain't fooling anyone. Not me anyhow.Belly up and make a prognostication. Otherwise, stay quiet when it comes to bragging about who you wanted and didn't. Manziel may bust, but I see supreme qualities as an athlete in this kid. If you don't, that ain't my problem.
OK, look... seriously....everyone needs to let the Aaron Rodgers thing go. Every team in the league can look back at some point in their draft history and find a HUGE mistake. Hindsight is 20/20. It's very easy to go years later and look back and say "we should have done this or that."Manziel is not likely to drop to #7. Which means we would need to trade probably up to the #2 spot to get him. That would require 2 firsts and a 2nd just to get the Rams interested in an offer, and then probably more to beat out any other team that might be trying to move up too. So you are really mortgaging your future with such a pick.I understand some Bucs fans are incredibly obsessed with getting a flashy "franchise QB." But are you willing to give away basically two drafts to get a guy that is frankly not a sure thing? This is NOT Andrew Luck we are talking about here.
Good post. I think I've gone over into the Manziel camp though. He would be 3rd on my big board (and only because I love Clowney and Barr) right now. No way would I trade up this year. I'm perfectly fine with a run on the QBs early if it means we have Clowney/Barr/Watkins sitting for us at 7. I'm not sure what kind of offer it would take to move me down from 7 if one of those 3 is there and I'm usually #1 trade down fan.
I worry about Manziel's decision making. I saw a LOT of throws over the middle, into coverage this year. Lots of high, arcing throws towards the sidelines. In college, an athletic receiver can go get those. In the NFL, lots of those passes are batted down and intercepted.I don't think his focus is on football, and I don't think he has the mechanics or mindset to overcome his deficiencies. I'm high on Carr because I think he'll put in the work to get better.

Manziel didn't suffer from batted passes because he can create angles. Easily.and the throws over the middle remind me of a pill poppin, penis shot sending HOF bein QB we all watched for years and years and years...

2 drafts? Exaggerate much?
Well giving up 1 draft is a lot, and thats pretty accurate.
Eff that... Get me Watkins or Clowney for a bold move.
Yup.
Its one thing to take a chance on a guy with 1 pick.If Manziel were available at our pick, I'd be fine with taking him. Make no mistake, Manziel is a high boom or bust prospect. Risking 1 pick for him is enough. Risking 3 high picks, where you could get something like Watkins and an T/TE this year, OT/DE next year? Thats just stupid

I can't deny the kid has great athleticism and is fearless, but I just worry about him being able to translate that to becoming a successful NFL quarterback.
Agreed B-Fink......I'm tired of the special QBs standing on the opposing sidelines!

I agree but..... Who's the special one we can get this year?
Not on board with Manziel at this point.I love a lot of what he does but after one play I think he looks great and then after he next play when he scrambles around, doesn't have anyone open and just chucks it up into a crowd I think there is no hope for him.I just cannot justify spending an early pick on a guy who makes very questionable decisions, doesn't have ideal size or arm strength. I have officially taken him off of my board. Bortles, Bridgewater, or no QB are my choices. Address it in free agency instead if you can't get one of those two.

No worries about Clowney getting paid and shutting it down?
