"Since Warren Sapp was selected in 1995, I can only think of one player (Aqib Talib) that the Bucs took a legitimate risk on in the 1st round of an NFL draft."Wasn't trading up to get Josh Freeman , a physically talented but raw talent from Kansas State a pretty big risk ??How'd that work out for us ?

Bold move.Still would have yielded the same result if we traded more than that.

It's going to cost more than a 6th rounder this time around. JFF is an interesting guy but I'm not sure he's worth the risk. I'm not even sure I would take him at 7. I would honestly rather take Watkins at 7. I think Glennon can win with a trio of VJack, Williams, and Watkins. Grab a TE or Oline in round two. We can make the offense look real good quick. I say roll the dice with Glennon this year and if he can't win roll the dice with Winston next year.

My concerns with JFF have very little to do with his height, his arm or his potential fragility.    Great QBs tend to be serious students of the game...willing to commit significant time to study and preparation.    (Manning, Brady, etc).  Before I would consider drafting JFF, I would want to know how committed he is to working on his skills, and whether he has the propensity to commit the time necessary to film study and preparation needed to be a consistently great QB.

THIS x1 millionThat's the part I'm not willing to risk on him at #7 or in the top 10.

If anyone caught GMC on Jay Mohr today, wha tjlr stated, is pretty much exactly what GMC said. Mohr asked GMC what he would think of getting Manziel. TO paraphrase, GMC said that he isn't worried about what Manziel brings to the table from physical standpoint, because he can definitely ball. The worry by he and the other players would be, is he willing to be a student of the game and put in the hours and hours and hours of study time needed to be a successful QB. I have to think that many of his teammates would share that same mentality regarding Manziel.

"Ask yourself this question: Would you rather go after a player like Johnny Manziel and him never live up to expectations or settle on a “safe” pick who becomes an average player and watch Johnny Manziel become a franchise quarterback for another franchise."Where's the 'take a good player who contributes to our team while Manziel bombs out somewhere else' option?

That option is over in the "draft Sammy Watkins" thread.

LOL Buccaneer fans are also scared to draft a QB in the first round. Its always "next year".

Bortles, Carr or Manziel  will probably be there @7.  Bucs should consider rolling the dice.

I personally don't see the Watkins love.  At least Watkins has the frame to be a starter unlike Harvin.

Says the idiot that thought I was delusional for putting Brotles in my top 3 QB rankings coming out the draft.
