I love making these every season and Im excited that I finally finished my first one. This will have all released/traded/restructured players along with re-singnings. It also included Free Agency, the draft and continual salary cap updates. (The 2015 NFL Salary Cap is expected to be set at around 140 Million. I'm using that number as an estimate.) Starting Cap Space: 30.00 Million (according to spotrac)TRADES:Dashon Goldson, FS ---> Washington Redskins FOR 2015 6th Round Pick (Save: 4 Million)Analysis: Now some of you might be saying there is no way someone takes on Dashon Goldson's HUGE contract. Well, there may be one. The Redskins new General Manager Scott McCloughan has been known to have a soft spot for his old draft picks. Goldson was a very successful 4th Round Pick for the 49ers and the Redskins can use him more then we can. The other 4 Million dollars in Goldson's cap are guaranteed/dead money unless we reach an agreement with either him or the Redskins. Mike Glennon, QB ---> Buffalo Bills FOR 2015 3rd Round Pick (Save: 550K)Analysis: The Bills have a great defence and some solid offensive pieces but with no quarterback it may all fall to waste. Glennon isn't an elite quarterback ready to go but is the best the Bills can do considering they have no 1st Round Pick. (Sammy Watkins) This is the best offer the Bucs will get for Glennon. (I did hear at one point they were considering no pick in this years draft but a conditional 2nd in next years)RELEASES:Anthony Collins, OL ---> (Save: 3 Million)Analysis: This one is a no-brainer. Collins has not only been awful on the field he has apparently gotten on Lovie Smith's nerves somehow. That is no easy task. The Bucs will enjoy spending these 3 Million dollars elsewhere in 2015.Michael Koenen, P ---> (Save: 3.25 Million)Analysis: A punter making over 3 million dollars should be at least be able to consistently kick the ball further then 40 yards. Koenen may be able to boot the ball 75 yards easy off a tee for a touchback but 40 yards on a punt, no way.Garrett Gilkey, OL ---> (Save: 550K)Analysis: The Bucs wouldn't even save much money getting rid of this dude but he was so piss-poor this season I had to include him. He got more penalties and allowed more sacks in 3 snaps then Andrew Whitworth of the Bengals did all year including playoffs. Think about that for a second.RESTRUCTURES:Josh McCown, QB ---> (Save 3 Million)Analysis: He's going to be a good mentor for the Bucs first overall pick but if he ever hits the field Bucs fans everywhere and Lovie Smith may breakdown into tears. Not worth the 5.5 Million. EXTENSIONS:Lavonte David, OLB ---> 6year/54million (9 Million/Year)Analysis: The 2nd best player on our defence and worth every penny. David balls out on each and every snap and there is zero chance this man makes it to Free Agency in 2016. Whether he's signed before or after the next season doesn't make a difference; all that matters is he will be.RESIGNINGS:Adrian Clayborn, DE ---> 1year/1.5millionAnalysis: Clayborn has had some good seasons for us and will come back cheap. Look for Jason Licht to give him a one year "prove-it" deal. He'll be solid DL depth in the case of an injury or Michael Johnson (censored)ting the bed again.Da'Quan Bowers, DL ---> 1year/1.5millionAnalysis: Much like Clayborn except Bowers can play the inside as well. Without resigning these two the Bucs would have to overpay a player in Free Agency. I think they keep both these guys and let them go in 2016 while they spend a 1st Round selection on a DL. This season however, they can't afford to spend a high pick on the DL.Major Wright, FS ---> 2year/3millionAnalysis: Wright played well when they needed him this season. With Goldson gone the Bucs need some reliable depth secondary players. Wright will prove valuable in 2015.Danny Lansanah, OLB ---> 3year/9millionAnalysis: One of this season's pleasant surprises. Lansanah can lock down the SLB role for the next few years no problem. He may be old but he is improving with play time and will be even better this coming season. He deserves to be resigned.Bradley McDougald, SS ---> ERFAAnalysis: Another surprise this season was how well McDougald played when Barron was traded out of nowhere. Imagine how well he can play with off-season preparation. He's quick, he's young, he's a sound tackler. Lovie Smith couldn't ask for a better SS in 2015 for this price.Luke Stocker, FB ---> 2year/1.8millionAnalysis: Despite being quite the awful TE Stocker has shown himself to be a great blocker. The Bucs can use him as a FB for the next few seasons.Orie Lemon, LB ---> RFAAnalysis: A good depth LB who is also a solid special teamer. He will be important in 2015. Cheap signing here.Pre Free Agency Salary Cap: 25.8 MillionSIGNINGS:Devin McCourty, FS ---> 5 Year/ 40 MillionAnalysis: Alterraun Verner moves from one McCourty bro to the next. McCourty is a rangy safety with great ball skills. He's a perfect fit in Lovie Smith's defence. He basically takes Dashon Goldson's contract and lets hope he plays a tad better.Eddie Royal, WR ---> 2 Year/ 5 MillionAnalysis: Royal is a solid 4th receiver but is more like an expensive kick returner. Lovie Smith loves his kick returners. Sadly he can't have Devin Hester but Im sure he'll take Royal,Remaining Salary Cap: 17.00 Million2015 NFL DRAFTPicks:Round 1Round 2Round 3Round 3 (NYJ) Glennon TradeRound 4 (STL) Barron TradeRound 5 (BAL) Zuttah TradeRound 5 (NE) Casillas TradeRound 6 (WAS) Goldson TradeRound 6 (STL) Barron TradeRound 7ROUND 1: JAMEIS WINSTON, QB - FLORIDA STATEAnalysis: This picks may go back and forth 30 odd times until we finally get to the draft. At this point Jason Licht and his staff are more sold on Winston and if he interviews well he "should" get drafted. We shall see. Winston is a QB that fits in with what Koetter did in Atlanta and has the arm to connect with Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson on practically any route.ROUND 2: LA'EL COLLINS, RG/RT - LSUAnalysis: In my mind Collins will start at RG in 2015. He will look a little more attractive to Jason and his crew as he can play RT as well. If Pamphile doesn't play well out there to start 2015 they can slide Collins outside and play another guard. ROUND 2: DENZEL PERRYMAN, ILB - MIAMI (Trade up using 3rd Round Pick + STL 4th Round Pick)Analysis: This is the man that will make the Mason Foster departure that much easier. Perryman is a small but quick LB that has extraordinary instincts and will play amazingly next to Lavonte David. Man, that is going to be a fun LB corps to watch. Perryman is personally one of my favourite prospects in this year's draft along with Minnesota TE Maxx Williams.ROUND 3: A.J CANN, OG - SOUTH CAROLINA (From NYJ)Analysis: Logan Mankins isn't going to play forever. In fact it would surprise me if he played for more then next season. Also if Collins has to slide outside to replace Pamphile this is the guy who I see coming in at RG. He will have to compete with Kadeem Edwards however.ROUND 5: PRESTON SMITH, DE - MISSISSIPPI STATE (From BAL)Analysis: Smith is a high potential guy who will fall to this point because of his "rawness". Hopefully Joe Cullen can do to Preston what he did to the other Smith (Jacquies) in 2014. If he can we are looking at a nice little (6"6) pass rusher in a few years.ROUND 5: B.J FINNEY, C - KANSAS STATE (From NE)Analysis: Finney isn't supposed to be ready to start right away in the NFL. However, the past few centres selected late in the draft have been quite good. Also he will provided some OL depth that hasn't been present in years. Ain't that something.ROUND 6: AUSTIN HILL, WR - ARIZONEAnalysis: Hill is a guy that reminds me of Wes Welker. A guy who isn't the fastest, not the biggest but has great hands and can work anywhere on the field. Hill is an All-Around receiver who will provide us with WR depth we haven't had in years. Seems like a trend, no?ROUND 6: KEVIN WHITE, CB - TCUAnalysis: White is practically just a nickel CB. Thankfully for him Lovie Smith considers that a full out position and even has its own coach. White will fit right in the competition with Leonard Johnson and Isaiah Frey. He's a little better then where he'll get drafted just because he can't play the outside. He could be a nice steal.ROUND 7: JOHN CROCKETT, RB - NORTH DAKOTA STATEAnalysis: At this point I truthfully had no clue what position to address because I seriously felt with all these picks we did a good job at filling needs. However, since PR has been shoving the fact that the Bucs will pick an RB in this draft down our throats; I decided to go in that direction. Crockett is a high upside player that has been overlooked because of where he went to school. With Bobby Rainey probably on to bigger and better things the Bucs will need a 3rd String RB behind Sims and Martin.Hopefully you all enjoyed this preview. The next big project I'll release is a 3 round mock draft after the end of Free Agency. It'll be a little easier to pick out team needs after the Free Agency Period starts. As always feel free to ask question below. Some notes:-I hate the fact that Mason Foster won't be back because he's just such a good guy and solid player. Unfortunately Denzel Perryman fits the Tampa 2 much better then Foster and will probably provide an upgrade. If the Bucs aren't planning on taking an ILB in the draft I do in fact expect Foster to return. I thought about them bringing Rolando McClain in but that was only if Marinelli was to come as well.-Some Bucs websites such as JoeBucsFan have pointed out that Clint Boling may be a good fit at RT for us. If anyone out there thinks the Bucs are going to take a "just over average" offensive lineman from the Bengals again you are sadly mistaken. (See: Anthony Collins)That's all I got, CanadianBuc
