This article is spot on. We are not developing our talent, and that's the shame of it. Its not just a matter of whether we are drafting the right players. That's part of it. The other part is developing the players. This is the part where the Bucs are falling woefully short. That is why I posted a couple days ago about not even talking about the draft, because the Bucs don't know what to do with the talent when they come here. They are young, raw talented men who need good coaching to be successful in the NFL.
Its the player development that is more of an issue than the player selection. If you look at Lichts picks, how many were out of line with projections? Not many. Aguayo is a glaring example, but there aren't many others. Cappa is another one where it looks like Licht took a gamble and it didn't pan out. More often the players are picked roughly where they are projected to be picked, like Vea for example, but something happens where they don't develop.
So don't even talk about the next draft until we hire new leadership. The next regime needs to have a good track record in player development, or the whole draft process is just a waste of time.
