Are the Bucs a playoff team? They are. They should beat the Panthers and make the playoffs. So what do they do then? Just be happy to be there and get crunched and be happy about it? Or should they act like a team who wants to go to the Superbowl? As unlikely as that is, that's what you are supposed to be trying to do when you are in the playoffs! So would adding a veteran running back help the Bucs to win in the playoffs? I hope they at least think about it.
Cook is not what he used to be, but the Bucs have benefited from over-the-hill backs in the past such as LeSean McCoy. Cook would essentially supplant Chase Edmonds who hasn't really done much. Would Cook be an improvement over Edmonds? I don't know, but I'm not sold that Cook is as cooked as people may think. He was let go by the Vikings for contract reasons. They didn't want to pay him when they judged he was over the hill. Smart move by them. He was picked up by the Jets to help Rodgers in the passing game, but couldn't find a way to hook up with Zach Wilson. Cook was basically unused and caught 15 passes, which isn't a lot but the second place pass catcher for the Jets has caught 23 passes. Would Cook benefit from playing on a team with a serviceable offense?
What do the Bucs have to lose by signing Dalvin Cook? Answer: Nothing.
Not a bad idea. After White were super thin
I think as the week goes on, It will be less likely that baker mayfield plays
he’s said today (Wednesday) that he’ll do everything he can to be out there to play. That isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement of “yeah I’ll be out there”
Kyle Trask will get his first start in one of the most important games of the year. Think highly of him or not, tough spot to be in and not exactly confident in the situation.
that being said, if we manage to win in a game that is quickly becoming 50/50, we then have to play the eagles who as they are struggling a much more talented team.
Calvin cook could be wise to sign with Baltimore, dallas, 49ers or chiefs if he is ring chasing
YES!
Who cares if he's only averaging 3.2 YPC (less than Edmonds)?
Who cares if it's clear as day he's lost a lot burst?
Who cares if he doesn't know the offense, protections, etc.?
He's a name! And, THAT is what matters down the stretch.
I mean, look at Julio Jones last year! Game changer!
YES!
Who cares if his YPC has steadily declined over the last 3 years?

do I dare say….Lenny 2.0?
(kidding - as I’d know you’d get a kick out of that 😂)
Julio is doing way more in Philly than he ever did here.
Game changer? No. But could he contribute? Perhaps. How would Edmonds be doing on the Jets who's second leading receiver has caught 23 passes?YES!

The point I'm really trying to make is that every team who is going into the playoffs should be trying to do what they can to win the Superbowl. The Giants won the Superbowl after going 9-7. It may seem laughable to talk about the Bucs winning a Superbowl, but we're in the playoffs (if we can beat the worst team in the league). We should be trying to win the Superbowl. Somebody will sign Cook. If Buffalo or KC or somebody like that would sign him, then the Bucs should be just as interested.
The Bucs have taken the stance to stick with their players and rotate in no-name practice squad guys since the beginning of training camp rather than going out and signing free agents. That's fine, that was the plan for this transitional type of year, but now they are (presumably) in the playoffs. The game has changed. They should be trying to win in the playoffs. They should be trying to win a Superbowl. Even if you are Loyola in the NCAA Tournament you don't care what your odds are. You are in the tournament and you should be trying to win it. If there's a move they can make that would give them a better chance to win they should take it.
Cook is a running back. He can learn enough of the play book to be able to run specific plays made for him and to block pass rushers. If you don't think Cook is better than Edmonds, then fine. We shouldn't sign him. If you think he is better than Edmonds then we should. Pretty simple.
Dalvin Cook looks so fucking slow.
He somehow looks slower than Fournette did last year.
They're both like Scooby Doo running in air
And guys the point is that he wants to be on a playoff contender
Why not choose a better team than Tampa?
what’s Tampa ceiling? Maybe winning a playoff game in which they will be huge underdogs?
they aren’t beating the 49ers or Cowboys in round 2
id suggest he’d likely sit out before he join the Bucs anyway
As expected, cook signs with Super Bowl contender
goes to Ravens

Shady!!!
Apparently he was good enough for the team favored to win the Superbowl. But not good enough for some Bucs fans. Those Bucs fans really know their stuff. I'm sure the Ravens forgot to notice that Cook runs like Scooby Doo!
