I was researching QBs and I came across David Fales. I have never seen him play, thus I know very little about him. From my limited research, it seems he would be tailor made for Tedford's offense. He's deadly accurate with short and intermediate passes, and possesses a high football IQ. The biggest knock on him seems to be his arm strength/deep ball accuracy. I believe Tedford even mentioned him by name the other day, which may just be smoke. Anyways, he likely wouldn't cost us a first rounder. It seems he has great upside. I would like to hear the opinion of the board college football gurus on Fales. Could he be our guy?
Nice find, thanks. Could take a season or two to develop, but the talent is there. Starting to like this kid. He could compete with Glennon right away, and possibly best him. Better than taking Carr in the first round IMO.. Any other opinions?
in the 5th round maybe. kid has arm strength limitations. i wouldnt mind him as a backupplus i dunno but something bothers me about having a QB with the last name of Fales. seems a little forboding
From the PR article on the Senior Bowl weigh ins:The group of quarterbacks in Mobile, Alabama this week didn’t fare particularly well at the weigh-ins on Monday. Miami’s Stephen Morris came in at just 6-foot-1, 208 pounds, which is 10 pounds lighter than his listed weight of 218. Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd was just 6-foot after being checked in on the Senior Bowl stage. San Jose State quarterback David Fales was listed at 6-foot-2, but came in an inch shorter that that at 6-foot-1. He is only 6'1". His chances of ever seeing the field are slim and none. Arm strength has been questioned as well but I didnt watch any of him.
His arm was getting knocked big time on Monday. I'm not a big believer is having the strongest arm (Manning and Brady don't for example) but you do have to have "enough" arm and right now it sounds like Fales might not have enough and be in that Gradkowski level of player.
Nothing that impressive, you can tell he pushes the ball some making up for the lack of arm strength.
scouts said his passes seemed to die halfway to their targets
He's the type QB that QB savvy teams(GB or NE) take in the 3rd - 5th and let him develop over a couple of years.Less athletic and less arm strength that both Bridgewater and Garoppolo. Skinny and 220 soaking wet.Smart, decisive and will make the throw. Perfect West Coast Offense guy.Not someone I see Tedford targeting
