I feel good. Whenever you draft Alabama and Georgia starters you can‘t be wrong.
Wild statement from a Bucs fan.
agree. These guys could certainly be great. I was definitely hoping for a different direction, but a lot of good potential. Kinda ironic that Braswell is another potential pick to take JTSs spot. I think we all wanted an EDGE, just didn’t expect this one.Interesting strategy to fortify two areas that are strengths with WR and DB selections. But then again we do not know what WR and DB will look like two years from now.
Can Izien play a true safety? I think with the injury history of Winfield/whitehead it’s great to have a guy to jump into either spot. I liked kam kitchens, but same idea.
I hate drafting a wr this early. That said, could be really smart. Everyone says you need 2 really good WRs. We got that, but now we don’t wanna pay both. I get it though. McMillan-Palmer-Jarrett the future?
Braswell is similar to Diaby far more than JTS so he is going to see playing time in a rotation or outright win a starting job. McMillan and Palmer will compete as the #3 WR because the 3rd WR in this offense is a starter and has to be able to block.
Godwin likely done in Tampa after this year
chance dean is too.
both based on their big contracts & lack of production.
Smith isn't replacing Dean. He's a NB with the possibility of playing box safety as well. He's looked upon as an upgrade to Izien and could start from the beginning. If Dean leaves, a replacement is still needed for him.
@alldaway hope it’s the Center from Wisconsin in the 4th
barton is our center
Right now he's"penciled in" at Center. It's been said that with his versatility that they'll try Barton at both G and C during the offseason. But if someone is there that is still a clear upgrade to the middle of the OL you take them and see where they fit, so that either way you still potentially upgrade an area of need.

in general, not us
we didn‘t draft too many. yes, howard was quite a bust and barron couldn‘t adjust to rule changes, everyone else was in 80‘s and 90‘s. . . . or did I miss someone?
We're not spending a first round pick on a guard. Barton is the center, and it really doesn't matter if he's versatile because he's the center. Lets say that God forbid Wirfs gets injured. They aren't shuffling him out of the center position to play left tackle just because we need a LT. He's not going to play any other position other than center ever.@alldaway hope it’s the Center from Wisconsin in the 4th

Thanks for the insight, Mr. Licht.

In an emergency, if you need a Guard, he’s a Guard. In that same scenario, if you need a Tackle, he’s a Tackle (because IN that scenario, it is a more important/critical need).
He’s valuable because he has played all those positions, at a high level of competition.
Sure, he’s a Center. But he’s a unicorn because he has high level performance in all these roles.
What a masterful selection!
In the last three prior drafts (21-23) on Day 1 and Day 2, the Bucs took one player out of the nine from the SEC (Trask) and none from the Big 10. In 2020 they went heavy on the Big 10 and in 2019 they went heavy on the SEC. But the Bucs haven't stocked up on players from either of those conferences in general. I think what's more important to the Bucs is who they played against and what they put on tape against top level competition.I feel good. Whenever you draft Alabama and Georgia starters you can‘t be wrong.

Bucs Alabama picks: OJ Howard, Mark Barron, Eric Curry, Keith McCants..... OOF!.
Johnny Davis had 1094 rushing yards... in his career! But he was a fullback There was a guy named Jeremiah Castille who made 7 INTs in 1985. Charley Hannah had a good career, drafted in 1977. Sorry Charley, you're the only real success story. Maybe we shouldn't brag about our Alabama connection.
Bama defensive players are so hard to judge because they're always so stacked

The point I was making is that Barton has versatility as does Bortolini as he's played 4 of the 5 positions on the OL at Wisconsin. I personally feel Bortolini transitions better to G at the next level as he has good lateral movement, quick feet, and experience playing amidst the chaos that happens in the middle of the line, either way he is a strong prospect that would be an upgrade on our IOL that still has a glaring hole at LG

Yup but I think Braswell looks like a gamer like Diaby so there is hope.
Bucky. Nice pickup. I have my Ducks bias but he's great out of the backfield on passing downs. Shifty.
Will be a nice compliment to White.
