I am constantly seeing mock drafts where we get a DE in the first round... I just don't see it. If there was one part of our defense that I wasn't completely upset with last year, it was pass rush, not even to mention we picked up a very good DE in Robert Ayers this free agency. Now I will say, the play from the DE was not great last year, but I feel a DE is for a later round (maybe 3 of 4). What we really need is a defensive back or wide receiver. Our DBs were constantly getting torched last year, and that cost us many games. We also have a now second year QB, who made it to the pro bowl IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR. He needs some more receivers around him to help him out. If Mike Evans can work on his catching abilities, then he might be the best option, but for now, he isn't. If we could pick up a wide receiver like Corey Coleman, he would be helpful. I think our best options in the first round are trading up for Jalen Ramsey, drafting Vernon Hargreaves or trading down and drafting Laquan Treadwell or Corey Coleman or Mackenzie Alexander. If none of these options are available to us, then that is when we go DE, but for now I don't think we should. Maybe I am wrong and I just wasn't noticing the lack off pass rush or something, but what really bothered me last year was the WR and DB play.
