I just watched b2b weeks with 2 defenses that aren't very talent and/or hurt totally shut down the Vikings.
I watched them dial up blitzes and play sound coverage. I watched teams with no namers making plays, and the "stars" playing like it.
I don't think the injured Lions and the Rams defense are any more talented than ours and YET their respective coaches are finding ways to keep offenses on their heels - guessing.
Washington's defense is equal or less talented than ours.
Ravens defense turned it around and looked dominant.
Chiefs of course look great with Spagnola.
Bills defense isn't that talented and they shut down the broncos (who carved us up).

Coen deserves more than criticism. He never embraced the running game. Never embraced Tucker. It cost the team in the end. Irving and Tucker would have taken it home. Instead we got a fumbled jet sweep and a stupid QB pull. Blaming Bowles for this loss is lazy, ignorant and full Coen cope.

I'm looking at a game right now where a very good Bucs defense forced a team to punt SEVEN times and still blew the game in the end. It's about points, not punts. Offenses get 3 points for a FG and 6 points for a TD. You don't get points for not punting.
