defense is ass and i'd like to think Bowles didnt forget how to call defense after 40 years of doing it. We knew the defense is not our strength. If someone would have told you, we would hold Washington to 23 points, you most l likely would have thought we would have won this game. No?
This on paper looks good but it ignores the fact that they sustained drives and kept the offense off the field. We had what, 7 possessions and no forced punt? Certainly no 3 and outs.
The Baker fumble sucked but still we had just one turnover which is below the league average. And we forced none.
It's not as simple as we gave up 23 = good.
The Defense didn't get off the field sans 2 4th down stops and the the FGs.
What about the offense not staying on the field? There was a 6 play drive with a punt, a 4 play drive with a punt and a 4 play drive with a game changing fumble. What's the matter, it doesn't fit the narrative that Bowles sucks and Coen is the next best thing?
As I said, but you're too dense. Coen deserves some criticism too.
But you're pointing out 3 drives... One of which was nullified by penalties... And quite frankly bullshit penalties.
When your offense only has 7 possessions it would tend to press. If they sustained any of those drives we might have been looking at 6 possessions.
The Defense hasn't gotten off the field all year unless we're playing backup QBs.
Your narrative quite literally a solo endeavour of stupidity. Nobody agrees with you on Coen or even our line being the "best ever".
Your takes are such shit that you've managed to unite DH, Biggs, and VC against you. That's takes some masterful stupidity. A masterclass if you will.
Looking at some of these playoff teams and their defenses... This is why I'm done with Bowles.
I just watched b2b weeks with 2 defenses that aren't very talent and/or hurt totally shut down the Vikings.
I watched them dial up blitzes and play sound coverage. I watched teams with no namers making plays, and the "stars" playing like it.
I don't think the injured Lions and the Rams defense are any more talented than ours and YET their respective coaches are finding ways to keep offenses on their heels - guessing.
Washington's defense is equal or less talented than ours.
Ravens defense turned it around and looked dominant.
Chiefs of course look great with Spagnola.
Bills defense isn't that talented and they shut down the broncos (who carved us up).
Texans defense played elite vs Chargers.
Packers defense held their own vs Philly.
...
So let's face it... Bowles defense vs awful offenses down the stretch masked what we knew. The play calling and scheme don't work. He's been figured out. That isn't going to magically change even if we infuse talent into the defense.
Youre exactly right. Don’t worry about what anyone else says in these posts. I’ve said for 3 years that Bowles scheme is done and figured out. Coaching and scheme in football make all the difference in NFL football. All the players are the best in the world. Coaches make the difference.
But sure forcing 3 and outs doesn't win games
The shit that delusional bastard says is almost as bad as the dumbass that says Todd Bowles is a cover zero guy.
Bucs have enough talent on defense to be NFL average. The problem is the heavy reliance on zone when you have some of the fastest CBs in the league that are ideal in m2m.

Coen deserves more than criticism. He never embraced the running game. Never embraced Tucker. It cost the team in the end. Irving and Tucker would have taken it home. Instead we got a fumbled jet sweep and a stupid QB pull. Blaming Bowles for this loss is lazy, ignorant and full Coen cope.
And yes I put on a masterclass the last 2 months. It was 20 vs 1 and I was the one that was right in the end.
Nobody has managed to acknowledge let alone refute the fact the Washington kept our offense off the field and limited it to 7 possessions.
4 of which we scored on...
But sure forcing 3 and outs doesn't win games
they punted ZERO times. To me, this loss is 100% on the defense. You can’t expect to win a game where you don’t make the team punt even once.
Yup.
Not forcing a punt once is the difference in the game. Turnovers are bad too but so is not forcing a punt once. A NFL average defense can force at least one punt per half.
And yes I put on a masterclass the last 2 months. It was 20 vs 1 and I was the one that was right in the end.
I'm a big fan of this level of delusion. Two thumbs up, no notes.

Just so you nitwits are aware. The Bucs win probablity before the fumble was 77%. The win probability after the fumble was 9%. Saying the loss was 100% on the defense? Your math isn't mathing.

6.2 ypc back on the sideline while we're fumbling jet sweeps and a designed QB run goes for 0 on 2nd and 1.

Most of the "nitwits" here can see you go from "not forcing a punt" to "the fumble" so youre just as much the problem as anyone who says this game was lost 100% by the defense

The "not forcing a punt" argument is meaningless and a desperate attempt to blame Bowles while absolving Saint Liam. Bottom line is we were up 17-13 in the 4th with the ball.
I'm looking at a game right now where a very good Bucs defense forced a team to punt SEVEN times and still blew the game in the end. It's about points, not punts. Offenses get 3 points for a FG and 6 points for a TD. You don't get points for not punting. Sorry Bowles haters, Liam Coma blew the game by running everyone he could find instead of Sean 6.2 ypc Tucker

Per points allowed, they were average. I believe they ranked 16th in points allowed.
Saying the loss was 100% on the defense?
There must be long of posters saying the loss is 100% on the defense and Mayfield's fumble was not a factor. Can you quote a couple of those posters for me, please? I must have missed that. TIA
The "not forcing a punt" argument is meaningless
You don't get points for not punting.
lolz
You've always had a pretty big pair clown shoes, but they are getting Guinness World Record-big at this point.

I literally just did. One guy said 100% on the defense. The quote reply was "yup"
