According to Bruce Arians the talks with Desean Jackson "Could Not Have Gone Better"

"It went great. We had a long sit-down. From my perspective, it couldn't have been any better," Arians said of the talk. "You'd have to talk to DeSean to find out what his perspective is. But I thought it was great. I look forward to working with him. Ton of respect for him as a player ... and a person."

Personally I really believe this is "coach speak" because they are really sorting out the cap situation. I also really believe Bruce Arians sincerely wants to keep Jackson... mainly because he is an outsider and has not been here to witness first hand the dysfunction and frustration.

From interviews with former players, coaches, and colleagues... Bruce Arians is somewhat of a master communicator in personal dealings... they all refer to his ability to kick it with you "straight up" and level with you with no "bs"... So if the talks were really long... I'd expect Bruce Arians got DeSean Jackson to really level with him and "air out" all of his grievances to get a complete understanding of how burnt the bridge is.

I'm eagerly awaiting someone to get a camera and microphone in DeSean's face so he can give his side of this "meeting".

In other news it also appears DeSean Jackson has also hired new representation/agent.

This would indicate to me that Desean is expecting to be released. Philly media isn't "buying" the "good meeting" and their articles are citing former interactions with previous team around similar points of friction with the organizations.

My personal analysis is that DeSean Jackson will be released here by the first round of free agency. I don't see him having a change of heart and giving it one more go. The ONLY logical route I can see DeSean Jackson staying is if he really believes Bruce Arians will be good for his personal career... in which he will be willing to play out that final year to revive his "market value" to hit free agency next off season. That would be the only "selfish play" that would benefit DeSean and end up mutually benefiting the Bucs. Contract year players usually shine.

My guess is DeSean Jackson is going to be released. I'm interested in everyone else's opinions with this new round of combine interviews. Is it just coach speak? or may we see DeSean Jackson back in the fold for 2019?
