Another thing not being talked about enough is Quinn's (a defensive head coach) aggressiveness regarding his offense.
He's gone for it on 4th down 9 times in the postseason (with a 67% success rate).
You can tell the offense feeds off it.
Must be nice to have a HC who actually has a pair.

Agreed
this might be one reason, talking about his QB
“He just has a different poise about him than most and he’s a rare competitor,” Quinn said. “There’s no doubt about that. But in those moments — if he was a basketball player, he’d want the last shot. As a ballplayer, he wants the ball in his hands to make the difference and he makes great decisions with the football. That takes real mindfulness.”
“
The Lions lost because their QB coughed up the ball FOUR times, with THREE of major consequence.
Fumble inside the WAS 25.
Pick 6 run back from the DET 40.
INT in the WAS end zone.
Goff wasn't up to the task yesterday. Sure, the DET D was swiss cheese, but that wasn't why they lost the game.
@debucsown haha! Devin White hasn’t been good since the Super Bowl run. And even then he was bad at things. No one wants the guy.

The turnovers kill the Lions but the defense was also unable to stop Daniels. Except for one punt to our zero. And for the exact same reasons.

notice I said White’s production not White. lol. He’s a head case

Okay, then I'll restate it as a game-to-game comparison since you like doing that. The Bucs had 1 turnover vs WAS. The Lions had 5 turnovers including giving up a defensive TD vs WAS. The Bucs game was tighter not because Bowles defense was heroic, but rather the Bucs had just 1 turnover. Both defenses had difficulty stopping the average WAS offense with a rookie QB.
I should note that the WAS offense was 7th in regular season yards, so they were not average as I described above.
Was Coen calling the Lions plays last night? Gibbs averaged 7.5 yards per carry but only 14 carries
Does someone need to explain to you that you have to pass the ball when you're down big with limited time?
They lost because of turnovers
You’re about to get fried.
Lions were up 7-3 with 3rd and 1 at the Commanders 17. At this point Gibbs has 4 carries for 58 yards and a TD. Take away the TD and he’s averaging 19 yards a carry. Yes, 19. In true Coen fashion, Johnson goes EMPTY, strip sack, Washington never looks back.
I should note that the WAS offense was 7th in regular season yards, so they were not average as I described above.
yes they were above average and that is mostly because Daniels is not JUST a "rookie QB." Thats the point I keep trying to make about the comparisons in the two defenses, so I will show you again here.
First, the TURNOVERS.
Goff threw a pick 6, so take that away. That is not on the Lions D. His opther two picks though are end of half, end of game. They keep the Lions form scoring BUT haver ZERO impact on the defensice stats, right?
They had a FUMBLE. So did we. The DIFFERENCE, we fumble right in front of our goal line and AFTER making a TD-saving stop. They fumble on WAS 22. WAS also scores aTD, but only after taking the ball 70YDS . . . because, just like the Bucs, the Lions defense had NO ANSWER for Daniels and IN FACT slightly UNDERPERFORMED THE BUCS DEFENSE
worth saying again . . . SLIGHTLY UNDERPERFORMED THE BUCS DEFENSE
why would I say that?
Start with Daniels PASSING
Two TD passes in each game -- wash
Against the BUCS - completed 24 passes (35 att) for 266 yds so 68.5% completion and 11.1 yds/pass
Against the LIONS - completes 22 pass (31att) for 299 yds so 70% completions and 13.5 yds
ADVANTAGE BUCS
Go to Daniels RUNNING
Against the Bucs - 13 rushes for 36 yds so 2.77 average
Against the Lions - 16 rushes for 51 yds so 3.19 average
ADVANTAGE BUCS
AND HOW DID THEY ATTACK EACH TEAM?
The Bucs stoped their running attack - Robinson ran for 1.8 avg and exkler 3.3
The Lions did NOT -- Robinson ran for 5.3 avg and Eckler 7.8
ADVANTAGE BUCS
And what about the DRIVES hat WAS put up against each defense
The Bucs defense defended 7 drives and they gave up an average of 3.3 points per drive and the drives averaged about 50 yds
the Lions defended 9 drives and they gave up an average of 4.2 points (excluding the pick 6) and the drives averaged about 53 yds
ADVANTAGE BUCS
*
POINT -- Jayden Daniel's offense dismantled BOTH teams in the same way but the Bucs actually defended BETTER evne when you normalize for the TOs
And one of the easiest ways to see that -- IF ALL THOSE DIRECT COMPARISONS IS NOT ENOUGH (lol) -is the fumbles
The Bucs fumble is a HEARTBREAKER because the defense just had a goal line stand, we turn it over inside our own 20 and they score immediately because Hayes is on McLaurin
the Lions fumble one results in a WAS TD because WAS takes it 70 yard down the field early in the game
The TOP is very similar in both games.
The Lions forced a punt, we did not BUT we had two turnovers on downs and one was against or own end zones.
BUT . . . The Bucs defense BENT but did not break as much as the Lions
The Bucs defense gave up 2 touchdown on 7 drives. That is 29%
The Lions defense gave up 5 touchdowns on 9 drives. That is 55%
ADVANTAGE BUCS

Daniels rating against the Bucs was 110.2
Daniels rating against the Lions was 122.9
The Bucs defense KEPT thing in front of them and forced WAS to dink and dunk and then held for field goals, so DANIELS longest pass against the Bucs was 35 yards
Daniels throw passes of 58 and 42 against the Lions
AGAIN, advantage Bucs
AS MUCH AS IT PAINS SO MANY HERE . . . the Bucs almost pulled off a win against a SUPERIOR team and probably would have IF THE OFFENSE comes through.
Granted the Lions are turning the ball over, but their offense is also moving the ball. Its just that Daniels comes back and scores two TDs and even leads the team for a missed field goal IN THE 4TH QUARTER . . so 14 point that could have bene 17
Those drives are 52 yards and 71 yards both for TDs
The Bucs defense in the 4th quarter gives up a similar 50 yard drive BUT MAKES A GOAL LINE STAND (versus the Lions giving up a TD)
the Bucs offense then fumbles inside our 20 and then ONLY scores a FG,
so the Bucs defense gives up 10 4th qtr points compared to the Lions giving up 14 (that should've been 17)
AGAIN, advantage Bucs
In the preseason almost everyone had the Bucs beating the Broncos this season and then when we lost it was massive disappointment
Turned out the Broncos were actually pretty decent, especially on defense
The Commanders are NOT the same team the Bucs beat earlier. The
The Commanders are a good team, better than the Bucs, and thats largely because Jayden Daniels is a very special QB.
The Commander beat the Bucs by passing.
They beat the Lions every way and worse.

"Schefter reported yesterday that the loss of the Lions to the Commanders on Sunday night was unexpected by NFL owners . . ."
Lots of people sleeping on the Commanders lol
