i mean it was unexpected by all of us.  Detroit was 15-2 and #1 seed!

When you think of story lines, Detroit and Buffalo getting to the Superbowl is something else, Chiefs three peating....

the Commanders...ehhh

Was Coen calling the Lions plays last night? Gibbs averaged 7.5 yards per carry but only 14 carries

Does someone need to explain to you that you have to pass the ball when you're down big with limited time?

They lost because of turnovers

You’re about to get fried.

Lions were up 7-3 with 3rd and 1 at the Commanders 17. At this point Gibbs has 4 carries for 58 yards and a TD. Take away the TD and he’s averaging 19 yards a carry. Yes, 19. In true Coen fashion, Johnson goes EMPTY, strip sack, Washington never looks back.

I agree they should have run it on 3rd and 1 but being up 7-3 when THEY STARTED WITH THE BALL is not what you mean it to be... The box was stacked with a run blitz. It was a good defensive play call and all Goff had to do was throw it at his RBs feet and play for 4th down.

Your issue is that you're juxtaposing play calling and execution.

So now Ben Johnson AND Liam Coen... Two of the best coordinators this year... Both of them are bad.

Lmfao.

Clown away clown.

You think you "fried" someone with one single play in game where the offense had 66 plays?

Your delusions of grandeur continue to entertain. After the "fried" nonsense, my favorite line may be "Washington never looks back" - as it completely ignores Detroit going up 14-10 on their next series. Keep it up, slugger.

what are we arguing here? Washington offense dominated Lions D.  And you also wont win many games with 5 turnovers. Both statements are true.

1st - fumble by Goff, Washington gets ball at their own 22nd.  Lions defense couldnt stop them.  7 points but field position made it like a punt.

2nd - GOFF PICK SIX....not even Todd Bowles led defense would be able to prevent that.  7 points

3rd -Goff INT end of half.  Missed opportunity but no points scored from Washington off of it

4th - A 4th quarter trick play with Williams throwing the ball.  INT.  I mean shit, it's 38-28 in the 4th and you are running those plays?  Looks like Ben wants out.  Ball at Washington 34.  Lions defense couldnt stop them for 68 yards.  7 points.

5th INT - ended game

so when it comes down to it, backing out the pick 6, Washington offense put up 38 points.  2 turnovers ended halfs and the Washington capitalized off the other 2 with long TD drives

the difference in the game was turnovers.  But again, the game was 31-28 entering the 4th. Washington scored to make it a 10 point game and it wasn't until the trick play INT that the game was out of reach.

very similar to the Bucs game with Bucs up 17-13 entering the 4th and Baker fumbled the ball on a trick play on our own 13 yard line.

nobody to blame but Baker for that one. Guy had a hell of a year though.  Needs to cut down on INTs in 2025.

exactly

people look at the stat line and go "oh 5 turnovers . .  thats it" but it is alos true that the Lions defense COULD not stop Daniels and the WA offense. In fact they arguably underperformed the Bucs defense against Daniels

thats why i posted the stats

I get that it doesn't fit the "Bowles is incompetent" narrative, but I mean. . .  the Glazers are not reading the Red Board and going "damn we gotta keep him now . . "

This turnover is easily overshadowed if our defense wins the turnover battle... Not getting run through the mud all game.

The turnover is magnified because it's 100% of the turnovers in the game.

Bakers turnovers hurt us this year, no doubt.

as did our defense not forcing many. 7 ints this year? Yikes. Individual players get more than that some years.

Maybe the most damning statistic. Zero pressure

Belichick: "Protect the ball."

HOU 0 - KC 0

DET 5 - WAS 0

LAR 2 - PHI 0

BAL 3 - BUF 0

Losers 10 - Winners 0

Looked like turnovers were pretty meaningful in the division round.

Or inversely... Force turnovers.

Can't help but wonder that strip in the red zone where they ruled forward progress and didn't give it to us... What that would have meant.

"“Probably. Yeah,” Fangio said Tuesday when asked if Daniels was the best rookie quarterback he’s seen."

"“He’s a young quarterback by birth certificate, not by tape,” Fangio said, via video from Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com. “The guy is playing extremely well. You can tell how much they think he’s playing so good, because of their offense and things they trust him to do, and he has come through for them in a big way. He’s tough to handle."

Boy, this is some reliable information. Most DC's like to shit on the opposing offense and QB they are about to play. Thanks for posting.

more or less "reliable" than this?

Check in after Week 13: Rachaad White is the starting RB.

Oops, or maybe you meant this RELIABLE GEM . .

Let the dork have his coach-speak. It’s all the ignorant rube has.

We’ll see who starts and gets more carries on Sunday. And the week after that. And the week after that. And the week after that. And the week after that.

So Bgggs just to prove AGAIN you're ONOY a feckless troll . . are you saying YOU DISAGREE with Fangio on this about Daniels

ALL YOU'VE GOT IS TROLLING SO YOU WILL NOT ADMIT YOU AGREE WITH HIM
