when one actually looks at the "12 years of data," as opposed to doing what Biggs did (and always does) which is thoughtlessly TROLL the phrase.
Biggs is a clown of the highest order and a COWARDLY clown at that.
If that was UNTRUE -- it most certainly is NOT as it has been proven here over and over again - then the EASY-PEAZY LEMON SQUEEZY response FROM BIGGS would be a football-based counter to the Kancey-Mauch-Diaby example.
Because Biggs is ONLY a troll though and nothing more. The actual "simpleton" . . .He is INCAPABLE of backing up his TROLL with an actual football analysis so his own incompetence (not Licht's) gets a child-like wallpapering job to cover it up:
Have fun in that black hole.
Leghumper Logic
Biggs mentioned logic (LMAO) both of those posts are Biggs are the LOGIC FALLACY "ad hominem attack." To put that in simpler terms, he knows he cannot actually defend his football claim, so out comes the ad hominem to try to DEFLECT

Biggs . . . . i Am SuRE 'yOUre' goiNG to ProvE mE wROng . . . by posting 'youre" football response to the Kancey/Mauch/Diaby example?

hmm . . maybe I was wrong about you Biggs?

NOPE
Of course, no football response even while posting elsewhere
Should be easy for the defense.
maybe "your" working on it?
Whatever the reason, the strategy isn't working. I'd rather he not use 2nd round picks on ass edge players and allocate those resources to more (typically) productive picks in that range.
For example, look at the data set for drafting a QB in the 2nd round. There's almost zero success there historically in the entire NFL. It's just an awful round to go QB because like edge, you have to get the elite talent.
What does Licht do? He takes Trask in the 2nd. Can we both agree that was a bad pick and the data/strategy to back in up was fairly evident?
Apply the same logic to edge. You want to go early for edge talent (like Allen) and go later for LB (think the UCLA kid or Fred Warner etc.
Just like anything is a combo of skill in assessment, strategy, and a little luck.
Had he properly assessed White and he was a perennial all pro then the VALUE would still be bad but the pick would be a win so it's worth it. Same with Aguayo. If he was a perrenial pro bowler (as you'd except from and 2nd round kicker where the value is a atrocious) then he needs to be elite.
Where as if you take a guard in the middle of the first and he is solid and stays healthy it's considered a win because of the value even if that guard isn't a perennial all pro.
This is the point that I keep coming back to and you're seemingly scoffing at...DRAFT STRATEGIES

absolutely. I get the thought process at the time, but yes a bad move in my book

no, not scoffing at all. Actually AGREEING with that point.
It totally get the argument that he has not allocated resources to solving the edge rush problem. I also AGREE that the band-aid late 1st, 2nd and 3rd round edge approach is not the way IF there was a marquee type player they copuldve gotten but some of that (in this thread Hall) is less about developing a pass rush for the future and more about fielding a "run it back" team in 2022
WE agree on far more than we disagree. I only disagree with the ORIGINAL position which was that Licht cannot evaluate a player in the position.
This thread is ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES not evaluation its "the Bucs should have taken a LB (Lloyd) over an interior rusher (Hall)"
Anyone still wanna say Logan Hall was the better pick.
In the real world though they are almost never taking Lloyd over Hall and even more so when Brady comes back because they are never going to say "WELCOME BACK . . we have no Suh but we are going to ignore the interior pass rush and we are going to put a rookie in for White, the guy who helped us win it all last time."
Brady's impact in 2021 and 2022 is to make make everything the Bucs do more "win now" then build a string team for the future. The Bucs are understandably 1000% all-in, so much so that they KNOW there will be a lot of future pain so they do things like draft Trask to have a CHEAP QB while they dig out.
100% there for trying to win it all while they have the GOAT, but a little dismayed that so few acknowledge the PRICE even as we watch it with our own eyes .

Hopefully you'd agree that one * that has to accompany that argument is that WE HAVE WON?
We may not have the type of defense that many would like to see but it would be JC5100-esque to say, of all things that Licht doesnt know how to draft when the allocation of draft resources has built an increduble offfense that is almost entirely drafted, save Mayfield, and some very good defensive players

The defense hasn't been top 15 since the year after the super bowl

haha so just to follow along . . you agree we have won, but our defense (that we are rebuilding currently) has not been up to the standard you would want. So maybe, we have won IN SPITE OF OUR DEFENSE . . . with Mayfield . . and the offense that Licht has drafted.
:-)

Winning is spite of our defense (post super bowl) is LITERALLY OUR IDENTITY
