All of these articles about White are indicating he's a captain of the team. I have to ask, why would he be a captain of this team going forward? This is not something a 'captain' would or should do. We may want to re-evaluate this position as well as making him play his fifth year.
He's a captain because he's loud... like Winston
Winfield, David are the clear D captains
David for sure...
Don't the players choose their captains for the Bucs? All of these articles about White are indicating he's a captain of the team. I have to ask, why would he be a captain of this team going forward? The truth will come out in early September when the players vote for captains. Do these issues with White lie mainly with the the fans teeand media, or are these real issues with the team? When Vea was voted team captain for the first time it was impacted by his demeanor when he came into camp. He was all business and was acting like a leader, so they made him one. Whether White is voted team captain again will probably be impacted by whether he comes into camp focused and in shape or whether he's distracted by contract issues. But the players won't vote him captain again if they don't think he's fully on board for the 2023 season.Don't the players choose their captains for the Bucs? All of these articles about White are indicating he's a captain of the team. White thinks were gonna be losers so he wants to join a winning team, similar to Lenny those LSU players wanna stay on winners. So just rid of him before he comes to otas and infects everyone
They area trading him , he has no leverage
This isn't complicated.
If we keep him this year then let him walk next year (or franchise and trade) we are getting a 3rd.
Smith got a 2nd and 5th but he is a better LB.
White should be able to get a 3rd round pick because that's what we would get either way.
So shop him for a 2nd or 3rd, and if nobody bites then tell him to play or sit... no skin off my nuts.
But if we break and pay him (which we seemingly cannot) then Licht is officially back in the trash bin for GMs.
Its giving me bad memories of Doug Martin’s contract situation and us getting fleeced with extending him on that contract cause we felt like we had to… or at least Licht did…
Bucs saying they won’t trade him.
well this just got awkward!

This is the problem. If you tell White to prove he's worth it, and he does, then you have to pay him more than $100 mil with most of it guaranteed. The price only goes up one year from now. Then you are locked in, which is fine if he were to continue at an All-Pro level. This is what happened with Dallas and Dak. They wanted him to prove it. He did. They paid for that. But when you already have a player who has proven to be inconsistent, how can you bank on that? On the other hand, if he doesn't do well then you won't want to use the franchise tag on him. and you just cut him loose. He's a free agent and you get nothing. Giving White a "prove it" year will not end well for the Bucs. If you want to keep him, try to work something out now that is at least palatable from the Bucs side. If that isn't going to happen, then trade him. It's time to fish or cut bait on White.

Lol.
No you don't.
If White balls out then we have a great trade chip.
The thing is... he won't ball out, because he isn't good.
But contract years are a powerful tool to produce so...
The Bucs FO may be saying in public they do not want to trade White, but if someone offers a good deal they might consider it.
White is an ILB in a 34 scheme it is not like we are talking about a QB, CB or pass rusher.
I see Kwon 2.0 is on Twitter again begging for Philly to give him attention.
