For anyone who has an Instagram - visit Devin White’s Instagram where he posted farewell messages to Tampa Bay.

he took down the one we’re he gave the peace fingers. The Instagram page “BucsTracker” did a good job documenting it.

I feel like there is more to this…

Bucs have to make several big moves to get under the cap. Trading White is perhaps the most obvious.

Can't overpay for bad players.

He had a great run during the playoffs. Thanks for that...

But as I said when we drafted him... you don't take a LB that early unless he is a perennial all pro.

He was atrocious most of the time.

Unfortunately, he isn’t going anywhere.

Bowles loves him too much. Referred to him as the “2nd best player on defense”, which should be a fireable offense on its own.

Off the top of my head I’d currently put David(given he gets re-signed), Winfield, vea, Davis, ahead of him.  And even with his injury Barrett is neck and neck with White for the next best player on the D position imo.  White is fast and can blitz, but takes poor angles, misses tackles, and is garbage in coverage.  If he’s 2nd best on the D then the whole D needs an overhaul

The problem is they are going to have to pay him the big bucks. They have cap issues. They can get draft pick or picks for him.  The Bucs have to decide now whether they are going to pay him or not.  If the answer is yes, then get a deal done, because the price is only going to go higher.  If the answer is no, then trade him now.  There is no benefit for the Bucs to wait.  They've had three years to evaluate him.  Taking a "wait and see" won't benefit them either way.  This is what the Cowboys did with Dak.  It cost them.

The Bucs have to decide now, if they are smart, what they are going to do with White.  And there has probably been conversation with White about contract offers or lack thereof, so that's why he's making the comments he's making.

Agreed.

And, they should trade him for a bag of chips if that’s all they could get.

He was a bad pick from the start.

Try to salvage the situation.

The legal tampering period starts Mar 13th at 12 AM. That will give the Bucs some indication whether LVD will be back or not. I doubt that the Bucs will want to lose both starting ILB's.

Lose White and re-sign LVD.

This defense suffers far more without Lavonte than it does without Devin.

Who cares if he doesn't.

I mean, that obviously depends on your definition of "trade value".

But again, my biggest fear is that we extend him in the next few days.

And, I may be wrong, but I think there's a way they can actually extend him to a big deal that gives us a little cap relief for this upcoming season.

Just more fear of us compounding an already bad decision.

If you try to imagine what is going on behind the doors of One Buc, 100% speculation of course, but I think the Bucs are trying to get a team friendly deal done, because they don't want to get saddled with a huge contract for a talented but flawed player, and at the same time floating some trade balloons to see what they can get on that front if they can't work out a deal.  White and his agent know he's in for a big payday next year from somewhere and probably aren't interested in being too team friendly.  The Bucs know the time is now to fish or cut bait with White, even though he has a year left on his deal.  Now is the time to either re-sign him to something reasonable in the Bucs perspective, or trade him for some draft capital.  The price will only go up if they wait, and the trade value will go down to zero. Or they can tag him and deal with that mess.   Something will happen with White very soon IMO, either a new contract or trade.

DH, I pray you are wrong... that's all I can really do.

If we max this guy out or give him so mega deal we are absolutely fucked.

I'm praying we trade him. We won't cut him.

Doesn't sound like Bowles is interested in trading DW. He seems to think he's a rare player, based on recent comments I've heard him make. Unless Licht has a different view, White probably stays. And then we have to pay him or lose him next year. I'd say lose him and pick up the comp pick in 2025.

I'm fine letting him play this year because it's a throw away... just don't extend him.
