Pretty terrible headline for a Captain in a contract year:
"Report: Devin White refused to play for Buccaneers in Week 15"
That is what SR is reporting. I can't imagine that he'll play another down with the Bucs. The question is do you tell him to go home and keep him on the roster for the rest of the year so you can get a comp pick of some sort? Probably not a high one but perhaps a 7th rounder. Or do you just cut him to create the extra roster spot for a player who will probably be inactive on game day anyway? I guess I'd just tell him to go home and enjoy his last couple of game checks.So, he didn't want to play because he wasn't starting?!?! What a diva.
I fully expect White to come back with his tail between his legs and apologize like he did in the Summer, but I don't think that should matter much. He's still not going to start, which means he'll be pouting on the sidelines and not be dependable when he does get in there.
You better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout, I'm telling you why, Devin White's not staying in town.

Glad to have been wrong.Bowles will absolutely start Devin White. He may not playing 100% the snaps but given his situation/draft status he will start the game.

He's the coach. He can say what he wants and it's the media's job to figure out what's true. But the coach has to balance out his coach speak with a little bit of truth here and there if he wants to have credibility with the media.PR reporting Bowles covering for White. what else is he supposed to do? :-)
Whites still liking all the Bucs Ig posts so let’s not crucify him as some guy rooting against his teammates he prob doesn’t wannna risk further injury and looking out for himself, which is fine it’s a business, he lost his spot, or maybe he comes back to playoffs healthy and turns it on for a crazy run and gets paid by someone else

This is a non issue and a non story.
The media is trying to make an ant hill into a mountain. White is still injured and he doesn't want to play part time or in a rotation while not 100%. So Bowles made him inactive. The end.
Britt is playing fine and they have JJ and SirVocea to fall back on.
well, not sure it an ant hill when your Captain MLB declines to play unless he's the starter sitting out a critical stretch even though he practiced
Probably would have played if in the middle of his contract, but since hes playing for a contract and has not played well so far it comes across like he's trying to avoid unflattering tape
