Here's my 1st mock of the year. Obviously, I'm not sure if the players will be there or not; but I'm using a combinations of several mocks on well known sites. I was kind of pressed for time, so I couldn't finish it out. I'll try later in the week. 1. Ronnie Staley LOT (ND) - I think this a tough pick depending on who's on the board in regards to DE. Hopefully, Licht addresses this need in offseason and it allows to us to continue building the line that will protect our franchise QB for years to come. We could kick Smith inside and allow the more talented Staley become our cornerstone LT. I get that some don't like drafting O-Linemen high because they aren't "sexy" or because it's a "boring" pick. I'll take a boring and unsexy O-Line that continues to pave the roadway for our RB's and gives Jaboo time to do his thing all day and everyday. 2. Jonathan Allen DE (AL) - I think we'll be in a decent position to trade back to the end of the 2nd round and I think Allen would be a great pick there. It gives us a nice edge rusher who is also well coached and groomed. I think this guy will make noise from the get-go.3. Pharaoh Cooper WR (SC) - I would love to see Higgins here, but everything I've seen has him climbing into the 2nd round. If there was a way we could grab Higgins in the 2nd and Nassib in the 3rd (I know...very doubtful), I might jump on that. Cooper should give us an immediate impact #2 WR or at the very least an upgrade at our slot WR. He can also jump in and handle KR duties as well. 4. Jalen Mills FS (LSU) - I thought he was one of the best secondary prospects coming out of the SEC this season. I think he's one of the best safety prospects in the country. His season was derailed due to injury and I think he suffered one to the same leg during their bowl game, but returned. If healthy, he would be an upgrade over our current safeties.5. Taveze Calhoun CB (Miss St) - I was kind of torn between him and Carrington from Arizona St. I leaned towards Calhoun due to his size and physical attributes. Not too sure what the hell Lovie wants to do with his secondary (I'm not so sure he does either).
