This draft had a very Mark Dominik-esq feel to it. First, we draft a CB... which makes very little sense when have adequate DB's and a substandard pass rush. Just like in the Morris era, this shines of building the defense backwards. Second, we draft a DE who's got a lot of upside, but HUGE red flags with alcohol issues. This is like taking Bowers when we knew he had significant knee issues. Then, we TRADE UP to take a kicker... 'nuf said. This draft gets a very big F+ from me. While all drafts are always an unknown for every team, I don't look at drafts as "did you get good players". I look at it as "Did you get valuable pieces of need at the right spot with a better than average chance of success?" To me, the answer is an astounding "No" for each of their first 3 picks. To think, it started off with an A++ grade just 15 minutes before their 1st pick by adding a nice 4th round pick and only dropping 2 spots. A very poor draft for Licht. All I can say is, thank God for Pittsburgh Pirates baseball, so that I didn't have to suffer watching this draft.
