Just a little lesson in technology for those that seem to be struggling with this. Uber is an opt in application that essentially hails a car for you via personal identification and a credit card associated with that identification. So a few things are at work here. One you as an individual are opting in, this isn't 1952 Chicago where you hail a cab and some ghastly looking stranger takes you to Skokie. You have a sim card associated with your carrier and an electronic serial # associated with your phone. By opting in, you are telling all companies involved with this digital agreement that you are an individual looking for a ride from A to B, and then an Uber driver comes and picks you up and all of this is tracked, uploaded and disseminated to an Uber repository where it's sliced and diced and stored for presentation in a myriad of ways, not the least of which is a receipt sent to you via text and email once the ride is over.
If there was a second ride that night, this is not something they are just getting wind of as a league. As part of the investigation, I would assume that they would pull all Uber records associated with Winston during that surrounding time. So those trying to sell this Winston was alone for a ride, while he may have been, this would not be something they are just finding out about.
