I like it with the exception of the skull. Looks like the terminator. But, I think that the original logo, which had a lot of black around the skull and on the flag, when blown up to this "enhanced" size, probably didn't look as sharp. All the black weathering on the flag is gone, and the skull is accented with grey on the new logo. Again, I wish they kept the skull the same...I think it looked more like something that might be on a pirate flag. I like the helmet and facemask, and the logo size doesn't bother me. I am hopeful the uniforms are an upgrade and not something heinous like the seahawks or jags.

I actually hope the unis are WILD. Seahawks, jags would be fine. Just don't screw up! Fair enough, but you can't deny all the black from the original flag logo is gone. Again, my guess is that they didn't like it when they jacked up the size of the logo. As for your last sentence, I am going to go out on a limb and say that the Bucs own their logos. Paying royalties to an outsider party for each individual use would not make any business sense. I am guessing whoever designed the original has zero ownership interest in the logo, and hence would have no standing to sue or right to royalties. Obviously, there is no way for either of us to check and confirm who owns what, but if I paid a design firm to redesign my logo (whether in 97 or this year), I would ensure I owned the logo outright.

The new logo looks like a five year old designed it. After being taught by his art teacher how to do it. Just too slick and pristine. Nothing intimidating about it. It's just big and everything is symmetrical. I'm trying to dig it as much as some of the groupies do. I am. Maybe tomorrow...

They can make alterations to existing unis/helms whenever they want.Really, to "fix" it, it's very easy. Blow up the logo a little to fill in the negative space, scale down the stewie head, and adjust the shading a bit better.
