If Mike Evans is injured to the point he stopped on a play, then that’s a warning - don’t play him - let him heal up. If it truly is a low-grade hammy, then he shouldn’t be out long.

He’s expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

So, we’ll get him back after the BYE.

damn.  sucks he wont get 1,000 yards this year.

i hope he continues to play next year

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Y’all said the same thing last year.

And, the year before that.

And, the year before that.

There's nothing more then i would want than to be wrong about this

Hell, Evans getting that 1,000 yards last year was more important to me then our playoff birth.  That's how much Mike means to this franchise and fan base

that being said, i wasn't so sure he'd get 1,000 yards with a full slate of games.  Now this year, its hard to judge with the make shift offensive line but if he misses 3 or 4 games. Yikes.

He has 140 yards averaging less than 50 yards per game

lets assume he misses 3 games, that leaves 11 games to go in which he would have to average close to 80 yards per game

Does he have monster games left in him?  Remember last year, there was no Godwin or Egbuka as well.

I'd love to be totally wrong and be AB 2.0 (Julio Jones) on this but unfortunately i'm likely closer to my "Baker being our QB" and "Trask not being a competition to Baker and Teddy" takes here....

When it happened, he grabbed at his upper leg/buttock area, which tells me it's a high hamstring injury.  Which tells me he's out for at least 3 weeks, possibly as much as 8 weeks.  Those take some time to heal.  hopefully we get him back in 3-4 weeks.

And did no one else see Mike's post-game locker interview after the HOU game?  He said that that "was probably his last game in HOU," which seems to imply that he's not planning on playing next season?  Or are we just assuming that he could change his mind after this season ends?

Can't catch a break. Brutal

He’ll be back for the most important stretch.

That’s what matters.

True but the next 3 games are an important stretch

It will be important to see what we can put together as we get healthier… but not critical at this point.

Never mind about the bolded part.  Had a brainfart and forgot how long it'll be before we play the AFC-S again.  Carry on.

i mean, its very possible Evans retires after this year

Remember 2 years ago where Evans wanted a contract extension before the season started.  Well, there has been no talks about that this year so it will likely be how he feels at the end of this season.

Bucs resigned Godwin and drafted Egbuka so that certainly raises the possibility as well. With McMillan in the fold as well for them to use a first on Edbuka singled either Godwin was going to miss alot of time or maybe thinking beyond this year.

It's probably a coin flip at this stage whether Evans retires or not but still playing at a high level, we obviously hope he keeps it going

Evans will probably play one more year imo on a team friendly deal

If he doesn't hit 1K this year, I would be willing to bet big money that he's done.

If he does, he'll sign for one more season to try and hit 13 seasons of 1K yards, and then hang it up.

That's been the goal for a few years now.

Think Mike hopefully will come back stronger after he heals up.

It was the right decision even if the Bucs offense started slow in the Eagles game. This is a long season and you need Mike healthy for crunch time which is looking like post bye week.

or does the hamstring continue to bother him?

i dont know how those injuries work but dont think we are out of the woods with his 1 injury per year.
