Earlier in the season, I posted that this team lacked talent and/or the talent that we DO have on the roster hasn't fully committed itself to the systems installed by the new staff. Some posters disagreed with my assessment, but to be frank I don't see it. As far as I can tell, this team still needs a significant talent boost in several key areas.I'm not saying the entire roster needs to be turned over, but there is a clearly a dearth of talent in key areas that must be addressed this off season, through both the draft and in FA. In two seasons this team could be back to contending status, if the current staff can be upgraded and a qualified OC who can oversee a balanced attack has the opportunity to have some continuity across a couple of seasons and off-seasons.Many fans have no idea how much a lack of continuity can harm a team. When the staff changes, everything changes, and it takes some guys a while to acclimate to the new norm. I know for certain that Lovie Smith will not be fired, that he will remain the HC for 2015, and that he will hire a new OC (Arroyo will NOT be coordinating this offense next season). Let's all hope that he gets it right, and let's all hope that this terrible season is a blessing in disguise and that it is simply the cost we, as fans, have to pay in order to be rooting for a contender again.
