The GM is responsible for 2 main things that us fans should really be worried about, that is the salary cap and bringing in talent.  When I look at Dom I see a man who brought us from having little to no money to spend each year to having millions of dollars to spend each year.  We still have plenty of money to spend this coming up off season.  The next thing he is responsible for is bringing in talent.  PR just did a nice article on the past years draft class and looking around this is a talented team we are just missing a few key pieces.  The first being a speed/shifty slot receiver, a pass rushing DE, a nickel corner, and now a LT.  Going into this season we thought we had a chance at the playoffs with this team.  There is plenty of talent on this team.  McCoy, David, VJax, Revis, Goldson, Barron, Foster, Dotson, Wright, Martin, Williams.....all brought in under Dom.  Now whose fault is it that they didn't produce?  I think a lot of the blame can be spread evenly across this team starting with the coach.  I'll admit I have been pulling for our coach to turn this team around but he hasn't and that could spell the end of him as our head coach. Now the hiring of Schiano falls squarely on the shoulders of the owners and the GM.  Then you look at the players, are the really playing hard for Schiano? I can tell you Penn has quit on this team.  I can also tell you it looks like a lot of our players are playing scared cause they don't want to get hurt on a lost season.  Probably why the last three weeks we have seen a bunch of missed tackles.  The players aren't giving 100% which falls on them, the coach for allowing it, and the owner and gm for hiring the coach.  It comes full circle but really this offseason every single person involved with one buc needs to take a hard look in the mirror, but to say Dom needs to go when we have a pretty talented squad that just hasn't played up to their potential is silly.

yes for repeatedly refusing to draft OL and for not getting anyone to play DE in free agency or the draft this seasoni also question some of his moves with how he built our defenseyou ALWAYS build front to back and he did it back to front. a great DL and passrush can make a mediocre secondary look awesome. look at the Panthers. awesome front 7, garbage secondary. that defense is great because they line can cover up the deficiencies of the secondary

It would be nice to have a real NFL experienced Director of Football Operations running the show.

While I like Dom and the things he has done of late through FA and the draft...its really hard to ignore the lack of success on the field.  I dont lay all the blame at his feet since he probably had little say in the coaches we hired, but he still has to shoulder some of the blame.Clean House.

I think we may need more on the O-line, but the problem Dom has is that quite a few of those current needs are actually needs that Dom has been unable to fill over his tenure. I like Dom, but its hard to understand the disconnect between calling for a coaches head 1 1/2 year in, but not a GM 5 years in when the team lack depth and the key positions you mention and, perhaps most significantly, the supposed playoff year starts as an absolute disaster because of the GM's QB and then, at least for a while turns around due to the coaches QB. I can see getting rid of Schiano (although circumstances likely get him another year), but how does Dom slide by unscathed? If we are making changes is it time to make real changes?

Nick,To be fair, Allen got the Bucs out of cap hell.  The Glazers just didn't spend any of the available cash in the FA market....for the top talent...until they decided to go after Jackson, etc.  Dom was the beneficiary of the work thar Allen did.

i dont know if the panthers have built their defense any differently than us...they just picked better players later in the drafts.  we built our defense from the front as well, and then complimented from the back this offseason.  we have just picked poor players to build around (for the most part).

29-50He sucks.  If he's a Glazer marionette too bad.  Sacrifice em all.  Worst case scenario is that he doesn't have the balls to tell the Glazers what to do or he's too stupid to.  Either way he sucks here in Tampa.

i disagree about them picking better players. they clearly have focussed on drafting front seven guys. they havent drafted really any DBs recently. they have focussed on their OL and DL and its paying off. we have drafted ZERO OL and its really hurting us. we also drafted a guy who busted out because of personal issues (Brian Price). it looks like we might have hit on 2 later round guys in Spence and Gholston. he also misplaced his faith in Bowers

Dominik has made his fair share of mistakes since taking over from Bruce Allen, but he certainly has done a better job acquiring talent. He's been innovative with the contracts, designing them well enough to attract great talent, yet still not put the Bucs back in cap hell like Rich McKay. He knows the whole organization better than anyone, and he is respected around the league. This franchise needs the stability and experience he provides. It would take a new GM years to reach that point. IMO, it would be a huge mistake to fire him. There is certainly a better foundation for success than the one he took over.

Dom has got to go.No remaining players from his first draft in 2009.Over reliance on Revis, Clayborn, Nicks, & Joseph all to recover 100% from injuries and be productive in 2013.Sat on his hands and didn't add to the roster after the lockout.Team has horrible depth, that is a direct reflection on the GM.5 years into his rebuilding plan of build through the draft and the Bucs are still not a playoff team. Struck out on his Free Agent signings when he first took over, and the last few signings aren't looking too promising with Nicks being out, Wright being on another team and Goldson being a penalty flag away from being suspended...again.

I don't think he's as bad as some people make him out to be, but he can't stay. 5 years without making the playoffs is inexcusable. I would like to know how much input he had in bringing in Morris and Schiano though.

I would bet $1000 right now that he would NOT get hired if/when he gets fired after this season as a GM for another NFL team.
