I don't know what you guys are complaining about. I've done all of my Christmas shopping right here on PewterSpam.com.
Lol
Man what been going on with PR? Seems like it's been a steady roll downhill over the past few years. First with content and reporting. Now the boards. Been reading PR for years but my favorite thing to do these days is read and post on da boards. But with the SPAM that aint as much fun neither. I hope PR don't go under cuz I like being here and would drown myself in battery acid before I'd go over to JBF.
Folks,I completely agree with you that these spam attacks are out of control and must be stopped. I understand how frustrating they have become because they are just as frustrating for our moderation team. I sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience that they have caused our members on the boards and take full responsibility for fixing this issue. This problem is something that we have been working on getting corrected over the past couple of months and we will continue to address it until it's resolved. About one month ago we changed our new member registration to administration approval to prevent new spammers from joining our community and as a result have put a stop to new spam bots registering on our boards. The issue we are dealing with now involves old sleeper cell spam bot accounts that have registered months ago. As soon as those bots are identified they are immediately banned and their posts and topics are deleted. Our moderation team has identified and deleted over 1,000 spam bot accounts already that would have eventually activated and posted their nonsense onto our boards and it's only a matter of finding the rest and eliminating the leftover bots to make our boards spam free. I have been listening to all of your suggestions along the way and just implemented another suggested security option to further protect our members from spam attacks.Thank you again for your patience with these spam bots as we work on getting this issue corrected.PR Patrol

This site has fallen. Ive been a dedicated follower of PR since the OLD boards. This site used to be top notch with a great magazine and awesome Bucs coverage, now it is being completely carried by Michael and a few other good posters within the community. The support from the owners of this site are showing us that this site is merely a hobby and an afterthought, not something they take seriously and have pride in. The spam is constant now, the lack of moderators is alarming. I am trying to get Bucs news not Gucci loafers. I have been an Insider and to tell you the truth its really not worth it. This site isnt really worth it anymore. The negatives outweigh the positives now, which is sad. I used to love this site. The various personalities and differing opinions on subjects about the Bucs made visiting here worthwhile. From Chrispy to Java, it was actually fun. Not anymore. Take care guys, off to find a better Bucs site. Any suggestions?
Buy the Gucci loafers. I hear they make a great Xmas present.
Agreed.. I wear size 13 just in cause you feel like donating a pair to This Young Black Negro Fund.

All PR needs to do is turn of the damn filter to not allow a person that just joined to post threads.
So do you let new users post after a set amount of time on the boards? This creates "sleeper" bots in waiting. Captcha and NoSpam! works well against this. It sucks having to go thru the captcha system every time you post but its a step in the right direction.A good friend of mine posted this a while back. Moderators should look into systems like this and pass it along http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=124828
PR is built on SMF. A switch to vBulletin would be nice, but I don't think they will make that jump.

I was hoping in the last site upgrade they would have. I was never too impressed with this final layout, especially for how long it took. vBulletin would be much, much better. I'm just wondering what are they doing NOW, not in the future. Also thank you 3SK for cleaning up earlier.

They have captcha for registration. If they had captcha for every post they would cease to exist.
I say all those dissatisfied ask for a refund!! Yeah! oh . . . yeah . . . um . . . well
Hopefully the problems be resolved soon yo.
