Draft - Chase Winovich is a better 2019 nfl draft prospect than Rashan Gary
I don't pretend to be able to break down whether a prospect is worth a high round draft pick or not, but I know a good football player when I see one. Many of you know that I'm a Michigan Wolverine fan and possibly saw my post on the Rashan Gary review by Steve White. While I don't dislike Gary, I don't like him as much as two other Michigan players that are in the draft this year. Devin Bush and Chase Winovich are two players I wouldn't mind seeing in a Buc's uniform (but not with pick #5). I believe both are going to be very good players in the NFL.
Anyway, saw this article from PFF and it pretty much sums up my thoughts on what I see from Winovich. I'm not predicting the Hall for Chase, but I could see him making a couple of pro-bowls in his career. High effort, high motor guy that loves football. I said that he reminds me of Culpepper in another thread, but that's probably not the best comparison other than he has a lot of the same traits as Brad. Smart, coachable, doesn't take a play off. If he's there when we make our 2nd round pick and assuming we didn't take a defensive lineman with our first pick, he would be a nice pickup in the second.
