Seasons over, time to look forward to the draft.....wait, what? We're in the playoffs two years in a row? We don't have a top ten draft pick again?
Well, we have a whole week to talk about the Philly matchup. Remember when we shut down the Vet for them?
Draft needs:
Tight End. Gronk is year to year. This is a good draft for TEs. A TE is sort of helping the O-line as well if we draft one who can block.
Defensive Tackle: It will be time to move on from Suh, or at least start grooming a replacement. We need a good run stuffing DT. The Bucs D starts with stopping the run. We need to keep building the D-line of the future.
Wide Receiver. I don't think they'll resign Godwin. Obviously if I'm wrong about that then the need to prioritize this position would be quite a bit less. Without Godwin then you really need to draft a #1/#2 WR of the future.
Cornerback: The Bucs will continue to add to their defensive backfield. They will tag Davis, but that will leave them in the same position a year from now that they are in with Godwin this year and Shaq last year. You can try to sign guys after the tag, but you can't bank on it. The Bucs can't bank on being able to resign Davis after they tag him. If they do then it doesn't hurt to have another good CB anyway.
I think they could use help at just about every position later in the draft, but these are what I see as the priorities for the high picks.
