There is a lot of talk about drafting Derwin James with our #7 pick, but I'm curious why no one is suggesting we just sign one of the one's that are still available in free agency. In a post today on PFT, they list that Tre Boston, Kenny Vaccaro, Eric Reid and Tyvon Branch are still available and apparently Earl Thomas is also on the trading block. I'm sure one of these five could anchor the back end with Evans and be an upgrade over Conti. Apparently the market has cratered for safeties and while some of these guys were looking for 7-9M contracts, they may be able to be signed for half that in the coming weeks.

Frankly, I would rather have a proven young vet in the back end rather than a rookie, but I'm curious why no one else is commenting on this?
