PR seems to think we will absolutely do it.
We drafted 2 last year... I don't see any value in it.
Otton wasn't spectacular but rookie TEs rarely are...
I'd rather stick with Keift and Otton, then bring in UDFA for TE.
We have too many other glaring needs to waste draft capital on TEs again.

Agreed.
It's a position that I have almost as low as RB.
In order of least important:
Special teams (kicker, punter, FB*)
RB
LB
TE
S
Slot corner
Center
...
Almost all of these positions I'd like to avoid in the first round UNLESS they are blue chip prospect... and can't miss all pro.
Is it fair to think of Otton's ceiling as Brate or is he better than that?
The reason I use that comparison (and it might be wrong to do) is because Otton is a guy who seems to get open with route running and size more than speed
Well duh, why draft a TE? The Bucs used two picks in the last draft on TEs, more pressing needs for this draft.
As for Darn washington..he has got bust written all over him. Take a late flyer on a te durham, whylie, willis okla, latu
Agree with the first couple posters. Better not see a TE or RB in the first 3 rounds. Otton looked good to me and Kieft can block. Edge, OT, DB … first three rounds. Has to be. Double dip at edge and leave the DB out would be acceptable imo as well.
I take that back, draft a DB round 3 and sign one of these old vets like Floyd, Houston or Ingram to add edge depth.
I think they are currently in a situation where they could draft almost any position and I wouldn't be terribly surprised. Arguably, TE needs another starting-level player if they're running a lot of 2 TE sets. I don't think it says anything about Otton, who I think will be very good, or Kieft, who will be a valuable short yardage and goal line player. If they can get a guy who can be a beastly blocker and a threat in the passing game, I think they could even take a TE in round 1 (perhaps after a trade down). We obviously have other needs I'd prefer they address early... but I'm expecting some surprises this year.
They have a vision for the offense that is going to need quality TEs. If they don't get one early, I feel fairly certain they'll get on on day 3.
Te's isnt a high cap value position so at most i want to spend is a 2nd preferably a 3rd or 4th. I think the best way to get the most out of your draft picks is to pick a high cap value position and play with those 5 years that way you can stay ahead of the cap. Fill these lower value cap positions with FA's ie te/s/ncb/rb/
It is a deep draft for TE so I think they will draft one. As long as the Bucs don't burn a pick in the first three rounds on TE that would be fine.
TE has probably been the least ROI on investment for 1st round picks the last 10 years.
I'm fine with a 5th or later
