Why doesn't this offense counter the blitz with short crossing routes?

Ben did this all night successfully when we blitzed...its a simple concept that can work ESPECIALLY when you have good receivers and TE's.

We are pretty great at throwing the ball deep but if you're being blitzed to hell you wont have enough time on those routes. We get blitzed... Deep routes. No blitz... Deep routes. Like come on man, teams were inevitably going to figure out what we like to do, why weren't we ready for when they were eventually going to catch on?
