The only WR I'd be a proponent of getting in Free Agency is Edelman, more from just having a guy who has been a part of a professional offense and knows what it looks like. Mike Williams is a pretty good player. Out of sight, out of mind, but I was watching Mike Glennon's throws from his first game and having Mike Williams on the field made a huge difference. This teams biggest needs are on the lines. If the Bucs could get a stud D Lineman and a stud O-Lineman and add weapons and depth, this squad could fill out pretty well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRZaT8fe18E
lol maclin is not getting the league minimum idiots... he was injured and he knows he wont get a huge contract after an season ending injury. he's confident in his own abilities and believes he can ball out in one year and then get that big contract. completely different from mike will who was not injured while playing pro football... one thing that easily separates maclin vs mike will is speed. maclin can stretch the field where mike will cannot. if maclin maintains that speed coming back from his injury and produces on the field, he'll get a good contract.

I disagree. Maclin does have more speed but it's not blazing like Desean Jackson, and Williams has better ball skills so you can put it up for him kind of like you can for Vincent Jackson. I'd like to see our offense not be so dependent on those shots, but that is important in today's game, and in the skill positions on offense we do have some good pieces for Tedford to come in and develop around.
He's a fool for admitting he's ok with a one year. You don't negotiate by say saying you'll take that
He may not want a multi-year. He'd rather take the low rent deal and try and hit the jackpot. Coming off of injury a multi-year deal likely wont be good for him.
Doesn't matter whether it works better or not. You still don't tip your hand.
He's not tipping his hand. What he's doing is brilliant. When you tell every team in the NFL that you're willing to take a 1-year deal, you're creating a bidding market. He's smart enough to know the business and playing the business against itself. If there are 20+ teams willing to give him a 1-year deal, he'll be able to have his pick of the litter. He very well might end up in New England or New Orleans where he could have a huge yet and get seriously paid. He also may end up getting a 3-year deal with an incentive latent contract which could get him paid immediately. He's creating an enormous market for himself.
I'd offer him a 3-year deal with team/player options after the first one. If he plays well enough, the Bucs would be in position to make him a new deal if warranted. If he stinks up the joint, they can not pick up the option and let him walk. Vincent Jackson will have 2 years left on his deal after next season. There might be a team willing to trade something like a 2nd round pick (or more), come next years draft for him if Maclin is worthy of a bigger and better deal, . You can't have a $25M receiving corp unless you have a QB who can utilize them. Even then, that's still a lot of money. But still, this year they might be able to get Maclin on the cheap and then maybe trade Jackson next year.
I think realistically speaking Maclin has 2 places in mind. Philly or Kansas City. I think those are the only 2 places he'd consider taking a 1 year deal from with the possibility to re-sign long term. Philly obviously because that's were he is now. KC because Andy Reid, the guy who drafted him literally is there. They have the need and he probably would start immediately opposite Dwayne Bowe. Also Maclin is from Missouri so he'd be very close to home. The more I think about it the more I actually expect him to sign with the Chiefs. Makes too much sense.

I don't think he'll limit himself to only those 2. Just my opinion though.
Maclin is desperate that is why he is saying he will take a one year deal. There will be healthy WR's on the market teams can obtain no problem.

Well not necessarily limit himself. But if he has a preference I'd venture to say it's those 2 places. But with Philly being very deep at WR I see KC as the place he lands.
Mike Will keeps living the way he living and posting it all online... He wont even be here. That kid needs to wake up.

I don't think he's desperate at all. He's shown that he can play at a high level in the NFL. There are very few WR's that I'd take over Maclin from this year's FA class... that'll be available. I fully expect certain players to be re-signed before the open market is available.

Yeah, on that front, you're probably right. It makes sense.

I hate to judge somebody like that but man I agree with you.
