We need defensive this wasn't a need at all in the first 3 rounds
It's a need if you think longer and bigger.
I give the pick a B+. Draft good players and don't reach based on need
Except, this was a reach too. Good player, but not a top 20 prospect.
This right here.
It's a good point but I think he's a top 20 pick on our board. I'm good with it.
Time will tell
A lot of scouts compared him to Godwin so I can see why the Bucs organization would like him. But passing on Golden will be very interesting to say the least
What makes Golden a better prospect?
Yes Egbuka was 19th on the PFF Big Board and 17 on Charlie Campbell Big Board so not much of a slide, but i've read some stuff about how he is the best other than Hunter.I think it was an opportunity pick. Some of the picks ahead of the Bucs were different than expected which means somebody is sliding. Egbuka was expected to go higher than this. The Bucs saw a player they like unexpectedly slide down to them and they jumped on it.
The surprise was Golden and Egbuka sliding. Everyone thought it would be Tet sliding.

Rare speed.
Egbuka is a very good player and I think people were sleeping on him. But Golden has something that is hard to game plan against.
We needed DE, LB and Safety. We had the pick of the litter and went with a position we were much better of at. I doubt we get a good DE or safety later. We couldn't cover the middle of the field but didn't address that. Sounds like we better score 40 points a game this year.

Most likely Licht will try to trade down that 2nd round pick if the Bucs are to address DL, OL, EDGE, ILB, CB and S.
We will see.

I think he's a John Ross downside and a Worthy upside. Meh

Fair.
Just had better prospects on my board compared to him. And they fit need as well.
Josh Q with the call. Had him as #2 WR

Statistical likelihood I think Egbuka has a better career than these defensive prospects.
I hate drafting for need...
That doesn't mean I'm right it just means I like the strategy
Golden is over hyped too. Watched him a bunch and he's not a 1st round player

In an offense like this that isn't a bad thing to have in the tool box when you have McMillan, Godwin and Evans on the roster. But Egbuka is going to really shine by going up against nickel and dime DBs that is for sure.

Agree to disagree.
You know I’m a big proponent of BPA vs. Need.
Just don’t think he was BPA.
Hope I’m wrong and hope Licht didnt blow a 1st round pick hedging his bets on the Godwin extension, especially if he knew the recovery was behind schedule like some of us eluded to.

He wasn't consensus BPA totally agree. But he was likely the BPA on Licht's board and I think he's drafted very well at WR
hes not and he has by far the highest drop rate of the top WRs. 5% is brutal
